Is Airsoft Helmet Necessary In Airsoft #73

airsoft helmet

Do You Really Need a Helmet For Airsoft

There are many good reasons for owning an airsoft helmet – they are a necessity for safe airsofting and other shooting sports, and also provide safety benefits if you do get injured while playing.

Now, wearing a helmet is not rocket science and a helmet is not a rocket. But some players enjoy the benefits of helmets while others don’t and sometimes they regret it. So, should you wear a helmet for your next airsoft game?

Playing without a helmet isn’t advisable, but may also protect you not only from the incoming BBs, but also from other unexpected objects that you might run into while playing the game. It is smarter to wear a helmet, and they add to realism.

In short, you should have your choice of a different helmet for yourself, and in case the choice is not enough, then check out the reviews regarding the different helmets on the internet, as there will be hundreds of them available to choose from.

Content

Helmet is a protection against the objects you may encounter

Playing airsoft can be really dangerous. A variety of unpredictable objects may appear in front of you when you play. This could range from tree limbs, window frames, door frames, and rocks.

When you are adrenaline rushing it is easy to forget about moving your head for that inch and a half and it is exactly what causes the worst injuries in airsoft. As a matter of fact most players who have experienced serious injuries while playing airsoft have not received them from BBs that everyone lose their minds about.

The most common serious injuries are concussions from hitting your head against concrete objects like a tree or other object, or twisting your ankle.

When you shoot a BB gun, it may hurt when it hits your head and it may even cause a concussion if it hits your scalp, but it won’t cause any other type of injury.

Getting shot in the back of your head or in temple hurts a lot, so you may be protected by helmets. If you want to stay safe, don’t wear a helmet though, because you can be injured more frequently. A bandana, scarf, hat, or even just a towel will protect you for less than a full-head helmet, so you’ll be safer.

Wearing a helmet is still better than a hat or bandana for close range engagements, but if you do decide to go without a helmet you should wear something that won’t easily fly off your head, otherwise it will hinder your ability to move.

Helmets are great place for your Go Pro

This is a great GoPro mount for the best action cameras. Do you like capturing your awesome moments on film? I often regret moments in my life that were awesome and I did not record them on a film, however you do not have to repeat my mistakes.

Pro is a cool thing for anyone who plays sports, whether you’re into football, soccer or basketball. You’ll use it to record awesome moments on the fields, and you can later show off for your friends by editing all the parts where you were getting obliterated, and highlighting the parts where you seem to be the right hand of Rambo.

Helmets are the place where you attach your go pro camera. They are ideal for recording because the angle is similar to your eyes’ angle and the recordings look awesome. Many airsoft youtubers use this angle when shooting their videos as well.

No helmet is needed, if that’s what you’re looking for. Attach the GoPro to something else, like on your chest, shoulder, or some other place, and the angle might be a little wacky, but it would still be less bad than the feet.

They add up to realism

Whether you care about realism more than anything else, you know that helmets are a must. Every professional unit in the world wear helmets, and there are many different shapes and sizes you can choose from.

airsoft helmet

Some players enjoy mixing parts from different units’ arsenals, this means that one may have a full unit’s uniform while the other uses a piece of the unit’s weapon, this is strictly forbidden for some players. This also applies to helmets.

Are airsoft helmets sweaty

Airsoft helmets do sweat. It’s true! But as long as the helmet you choose fits your head and is designed to be comfortable during play, it will only sweat a little bit.

Airsoft helmets should have some sort of ventilation system to prevent sweat from building up and dripping onto your eyes. Hats or pieces of clothing that you wrap around your head should be water-resistant to prevent sweat from dripping down and collecting on your eyes.

Can you use a motorcycle helmet for airsoft

Airsoft helmets come in many different types of styles and sizes, so you need to make sure you have the right size before you start to play. If you don’t have an airsoft helmet, you can use a motorcycle helmet instead.

Motorcycle helmets are a great way to increase your safety and cover as much of the soft tissue on your head as possible. However, if you’re talking about full face motorcycle helmets, then you should expect them to sweat after some time.

Testing the ventilation system on any full face helmet can be really important, because sweating can be annoying and you do not want that. Motorcycle helmets, on the other hand, are great when you accidentally fall and hit the head off something concrete, and regular airsoft and other helmets can be good enough for the protection in case of accidents.

Unless you play airsoft while riding a motor you will not be able to fully utilize motorcycle helmets and will neither regret buying them.

More Room to Add Tactical Accessories

This is all about tactical add-ons. You can buy a wide range of accessories to install on your airsoft helmet. Some are useful, some just for aesthetics. Either way, an airsoft helmet is better when you’ve got a few basic attachments installed.

The most important thing you can and should attach to your helmet is a face mask, as some come with clips that can be attached to most helmets. It should be a mesh mask – not a face shield – because it offers a more comfortable and secure fit.

Another important piece of equipment you can attach to your airsoft helmet is comms. If you play at large events and with lots of people, you will want a radio. To make it easier to operate quietly, you will want to use hearing aids.

For tactical accessories, night vision goggles are a good choice. NVGs give you and your team a huge advantage when participating in milsim games that last throughout the night.

Most helmets have a dedicated mount for NVG technology. This will allow you to lower your night vision goggles when needed, and also keep them out of your line of sight during the day. Other tactical accessories that you might consider are flashlights and night lights.

Running a flashlight on your helmet can be very useful when playing or just setting up in low light conditions. Night lights are usually placed on the back of your helmet, and they are very dim. They have the function of signalling your position to your teammates.

Not to Wear Helmet: Airsoft Helmets Can Cause Neck Fatigue

You need to wear your airsoft helmet properly or you could end up with neck fatigue. Some helmets have multiple accessories and attachments that can cause neck fatigue.

There are many ways to improve your posture, including good habits, like sitting with your back straight and looking people in the eyes, and more complicated methods, like learning a specific yoga routine or using an exercise ball that helps your core muscles strengthen.

Airsoft helmets vary in weight from around 5 pounds. Depending on the model, a protective ballistic helmet can weigh around 2 to 4 pounds or just under a kilogram.

Cheap airsoft helmets will do the job just fine if you decide to play airsoft with friends. You may not need a steel helmet to be able to keep safe, so you could go with something a bit more affordable.

If you like airsoft, you should own a M1 helmet (or two). They’re one of the most popular helmets for use in airsoft, yet they are rather heavy.

The Stahlhelm was worn by the German armed forces in 65 pounds or 3.2 kg is a common weight for replicas of this item. You can also see people wearing WW2 uniforms with replicas of the M1 Garand, Thompson Submachine Gun, Kar 98 rifle, or MP 40 machine gun.

The weight of the helmet accessories is also something to keep in mind. Adding too much stuff to your helmet will make you very uncomfortable. Here is the weight of some common helmet attachments: Night vision goggles, cameras, night vision googles: 500 to 900 grams.

NVG counterweight: this is a bag that attaches to the back of your helmet to provide balance. Also, 300 to 900 grams. Action camera: GoPros weigh about 85 to 116 grams. You will need to add the weight of the mount that attaches to your helmet.

If you spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer screen or looking down at your smartphone, you can develop neck issues like “text neck”. These can lead to shoulder pain, eye pain and headaches.

If this is something you experience often, you may want to avoid wearing an airsoft helmet, and, instead, get another piece of protective gear. To buy a helmet, make sure it is the lightest one available.

Wear your protective headgear when you’re going to be active for long periods of time. The longer your headgear is worn, the more protection it gives your head.

Not to Wear Helmet: Airsoft Helmets Can Get Hot and Humid

You have to be careful with airsoft helmets. It can get quite hot and humid while playing, especially in warmer months. Running around a lot can get you to overheat, which is why I like to sprint a lot.

When your helmet doesn’t provide a proper amount of ventilation, it could cause you to overheat, so make sure you’re wearing the correct helmet for your activity and for the season. You might want to consider an additional cooling vest to mitigate the impact of excessive overheating, or you could even go as far as wearing a full suit!

Another thing I notice when wearing a helmet is that my goggles or protective glasses tend to get fogged up more because of the trapped heat. You can use fog-proof goggles or apply anti-fog agents to your lenses to prevent this, but even then it might happen.

The best solution is to just remove your helmet when you aren’t actually playing, during breaks and in the staging area. Sweating while wearing a helmet is common. My helmet gets completely soaked after a day of airsofting.

That is why it is always a good idea to remove your helmet liner (if possible) and allow it to dry, or you could wash it if the materials can handle it. Trust me, the smell of stale sweat in your helmet is nasty and tough to get rid of.

To make airsofting more comfortable and enjoyable, wear an airsoft helmet that has an interior lining or an interior pad that you can wash out and sanitize, and don’t forget the goggles!

Many of these can get pretty warm, especially the winter models. However, they may work better in colder climates.

Not to Wear Helmet: Airsoft Helmets Make You a Bigger Target

The best way to avoid getting hit is to present a small target for the enemy to shoot at, which is why I wear an airsoft helmet for my big head. The same applies to you.

You won’t know if your football player is a good one until you play him. Being tall and bigger than the other players will help him run faster and more efficiently, and he will also be able to kick farther. Some football players wear padding on their feet or knees to protect themselves from injury and injuries are no laughing matter.

If you’re a sniper and you shoot from behind cover, you may not be visible to your enemy. But, the enemy could still see the top of your head. This is because your enemy’s sight is above your hiding spot.

Types of Airsoft Helmets

Types of Airsoft Helmets. Some models of airsoft helmets come with a standard visor. Others have an extended visor. Most airsoft helmets can be customized to fit your head size and shape. FAST/High Cut/Maritime Cut/ATE – FAST stands for Future Assault Shell Technology – these helmets were designed for maritime special operations and feature a minimalist design.

They are great choices for airsoft because they offer adequate protection while still being light and ventilated. Most FAST helmets have options for attaching accessories like face masks, ear protection, lights and cameras.

For example, MICH or ACH helmets – Modular Integrated Communications Helmet – a bulkier design that incorporates ear protection. These helmets are still used by military and law enforcement operators around the world.

MIH and FAST helmets are generally heavier and more expensive than civilian styles, so the best choice depends on your budget and helmet needs. I would also include all types of military inspired helmets in this category, as many countries’ armed forces have different models of helmets.

Examples of very sought after models of helmets include Russian helmets with visors. They were designed to protect the face and eyes of the user, but they do limit your field of view significantly.

These are custom airsoft helmets and they’re specially designed for airsoft. They come in all kinds of shapes, designs, and they can even be made to look like sci-fi inspired creations.

This is a good choice of a muzzle brake for you if you like to get up close and personal while aiming or need to have a little more breathing room behind the weapon.

When wearing a full face helmet it’s difficult to see through the sights because they are in the way of your vision. One way to get around this would be to attach an optic to your weapon so you could wear glasses while you shoot.

If you want your rifle to shoot at the highest possible elevation, you should put a high elevation optic on it. However, I don’t much like this option as some helmets have a hard time accepting such a big lens.

Helmet Accessories

Your helmet should be future-proofed to keep you safe in the field of battle. I recommend mounting points for your goggles and face mask, and side rails for adding hearing aides or ear protection.

Most tactical helmets also come with a camera mount on the forehead, allowing you to add cameras to your headgear. If you need a helmet to cover your head and be comfortable, the Velcro padded and waterproof helmet is the one for you.

The guys at Airsoft GI show you how to build your own custom helmet to replicate the ones worn by pros. It’s a comprehensive guide to help you find the perfect set-up for your head.

Airsoft Rules for Beginners #44

airsoft

Airsoft Rules for Beginners

There are airsoft rules every new airsoft player should know. Some are just plain silly, others make perfect sense and the rules vary depending on the local field you go to play.

I will mention the most common rules and give you an explanation for each one. If you’re just looking for the rules to airsoft, this article is for you.

airsoft

Without rules, airsoft would be just a bunch of hot air and it’s on us to protect it!

Airsoft gun rules are usually the same as the normal rules in the games. All you have to know is about those basic airsoft rules which you should be familiar with.

Content

Airsoft Eye Protection

Eye protection is important whatever you play, so never play airsoft without wearing glasses or goggles. You should consider the rules of your tournament and/or league before participating in it, and make sure that you have a pair of glasses or goggles that you’re comfortable to use.

I’m serious! Don’t take chances, wear safety goggle during your play.

airsoft

No matter whether you’re a player or a visitor, we strongly suggest that you wear safety goggles or other eye protection. A safety zone is discussed in detail later.

Airsoft Face Protection

It is a really good idea to wear eye protection if you are going to play in an airsoft match. You might end up being hit by a bullet coming from behind and hitting your head, so you don’t want to lose your vision.

To start with, try not to get your face near the muzzle of the Airsoft gun. This is very bad for your ears.

The Game Moderator

There is a game moderator in any airsoft game you play, anywhere in any venue. In a sport like airsoft there are always conflicts among the players about whether he got hit or not. Most of the time the players resolves the situation or the conflicts themselves between them.

It was a rough game, but we were able to finish the game even though it didn’t go according to plan. There were many times when the game moderator made tough calls. If there are any other ways to make those tough calls, we might want to do so.

You don’t want to argue with him. It will make you get kicked out of the game immediately. If you have any other objections to his decision, you should let him know politely.

Airsoft Safe Zone Rules

There is a Safe Zone in any venue arranging an airsoft game. The safe zone is the area where you are not allowed to shoot. If you open fire on anyone, it will result in an ejection from that day of the event.

You will have a good time at the party. Of course, you can be there tomorrow morning, but you must play by the rules, right?

The Bang Rule/ Safety Kill

You can shoot any enemy you find, no matter how far away they are from you. And if they see that they are not in danger of dying, they should turn around. That’s called a safety kill.

Most teams play around 3 metres / 10 feet from their opponents. Make sure you know the distance between your team and the other team before calling ‘bang’. If you call ‘Bang’ and someone shoots you instead of the person you targeted, you should not complain about it.

Know and respect the rules, and find the re-spawn point.

Getting Hit

To dribble the ball, hold down both left and right analog sticks in any direction.

If the clothing that you have worn got hit by the opponents, then you are considered to be “Hit”. Do not try to cheat and do not try to be friendly to the opponent. Be honest and be aware of the rules.

If you ignore the rules of getting hit, and continue to play as you were, it is a violation. Such violation of rules shall be dealt immediately and severely. As a result you will be pulled out of the game that day of the event.

Airsoft Blind Man Rule

In airsoft, the blind man is used when a player gets injured, and the other players take a time out in order to assess the situation and determine the next course of action. If no one has an injury that they think needs treatment, then it means the situation is safe to continue play.

And if you get any real injury yourself, just shout “Blind Man” and ask for help.

Airsoft Head Shot Rules

A good shot should always target the torso area or body part (not a headshot). The best way to get a headshot is to shoot the opponent’s arm, shoulder, or hand. Also make sure to avoid shooting in the face.

Airsoft Medic Rules

The best way to recover when you’ve been hit in an airsoft game is to simply say “Hit” and to sit down and put on the red bandana. If you can’t do this, someone else can take the hit for you and get a free turn.

After the injured player received medical attention, he would be able to continue playing. But you should remember this: An injured player cannot heal or first-aid another player.

Only one person can get one medic, and if a player gets hit after getting medic in any time, it should be considered as KIA. If you want to learn how to be an airsoft medic, read our this article.

Airsoft Border Rules

The airsoft border area is for players only. It is strictly forbidden for the players to bring in their own firearms. And for the players who are carrying their airsoft weapons to walk out of the designated border area is also forbidden.

Police officers often encounter calls of suspicious activities that could turn out to be something more. Your plans may be to go hiking, but if you think it is a mass shooting and you’re out of reach of police, then stay inside the venue.

Checking Weapons

When a team loses a game, they have to pay money for the loss. If there is no loser team, there is only a “Winner” and the winner team gets a free round.

Weapons Should Be Cased

A weapon should always be covered when it’s stored. If it’s not then the police could arrest you if they see your weapons out. Most weapons are made so that you don’t have to cover them, but in some situations you might need to cover them to protect it from damages.

To avoid any and all kinds of unnecessary troubles, keep your weapons cased.

Physical Contact

No physical contact is permitted among the players or the moderators. You cannot physically attack anyone, or wrestle or fight. It’s a shooting game, not a boxing match.

Airsoft Sniper Safety Rules

When using a long range sniper rifle in an airsoft game, it is always recommended that you carry a sidearm. And if you are firing at a target that is closer than 50 feet, you need to be prepared for them to fire back.

A sniper should avoid hitting people in the face with his rifle intentionally if a sniper don’t carry any pistol at all and spot enemy he can either wait for the opponent player to move to safe distance. The sniper should relocate to the safe range to avoid confrontation.

A “sniper rifle” is a term you shouldn’t use in the Airsoft arena. They’re illegal for use in an official event.

Airsoft Blind Firing Rules

Blind firing is definitely not one of those things that are permitted in airsoft. Any incident of blind firing may lead to expulsion from the game. So, don’t try to fire blindly.

Don’t ever hit anyone in the face!

Police Interference

There may be an unwanted situation like this when the local police or the SWAT team got any misleading information about the game and enter the field. That could possibly be a dangerous situation until the police team gets convinced that this is a game, not a real thing.

So, what to do if the police enter the field? The first thing you should do is enter the safe zone. You can either enter the safe zone with your arms above your head or putting them on the ground.

There are plenty of things to do, but don’t ever play a real gun game again! When all of you come together in one place in the Safe Zone, make sure you put your arms at a conspicuous distance.

You can wear a hoodie to hide your face and blend in while avoiding unwanted attention.

No Drugs Or Alcohol

In airsoft there are no drugs or alcohol. And while there is no dope test involved, it’s best not to drink alcohol or do drugs during the game.

We are excited to add some fun and interesting new features to this game.

No Real Firearms

Even if you have real firearms for your own protection, airsoft games don’t allow that in the field. So you either show off or you are not allowed to bring it into the venue.

Can You Use Full Auto In Airsoft

Some airsoft fields do not allow you to fire the gun in full auto. While some people believe it’s wrong, others believe that it’s okay and that they don’t care for the noise and damage they cause.

The biggest difference between CQB airsoft fields and open air games is that there is a risk of injury when you shoot the airsoft pellets from full auto if you are too close to the opponent.

What Is The Maximum FPS Allowed For Airsoft Guns

What’s the maximum FPS allowed for airsoft guns? FPS helps you achieve better performance with your airsoft gun, but also the higher it is, the worse damage gets to the player on a receiving end.

Fields usually have rules regarding the maximum FPS and the distance at which you are allowed to shoot. Usually, the fields implement the MED (medium engagement distance) and chrono the airsoft guns for the allowed FPS before you can enter the field.

You can go to an airsoft field that states the maximum FPS of a gun you can bring and some field might even allow for a max of 500 FPS, yet some field may also have restrictions on bringing certain guns or having certain ammunition.

When it comes to injuries caused by FPS airsoft guns, there are a number of rules and laws that limit how players can act, and therefore it is important to know these regulations and play safely.

Remember, when a player is wearing good equipment, the BBs don’t hurt. It’s the most important piece of gear — safety eye protection! The quality of the eye protection you wear can affect your protection, so make sure you wear quality eye protection.

Finally, this concludes the book. There were FPS requirements for your safety, and I’ve outlined how to use them.

What Is Blind Firing

Blind firing is one of the worst tactics you can implement in airsoft. It can also be dangerous and certainly, it can be unfair for the opposite team. Blind firing is defined as shooting randomly, and hoping you hit something which you don’t see.

So, for instance, blind firing usually occurs when a player is protected by a cover and he does not expose himself to the enemy team but instead pushes the gun out of the cover and blindly fires. This is terrible for accuracy but the biggest problem is that this does not allow the enemy player to counter fire and because hits through the cover do not count in airsoft, it’s impossible to take down the target that is not exposed at all at the moment of shooting.

Another big issue with blind firing is that it’s very easy to accidentally hit the target in the head, while it could be perfectly avoided if you had the aim.

What is The Most Effective Military Camouflage #1

Camouflage

What is The Most Effective Military Camouflage

Military all over the world use camouflage to evade detection by the enemy. Some countries have adapted it for jungle and snow conditions. Others use it on city streets.

It’s no accident that camouflage is used in the military. It’s a matter of life and death for soldiers to avoid detection, and the patterns and colors depend on the environment they’re likely to find themselves in.

These are the ones that have been tested over and over again in battle conditions, and proven to be the very best camouflage patterns and digital camouflage patterns available.

If you are looking for the perfect camouflage pattern or digital camouflage pattern, you can get one of idea from the most effective military camouflage patterns and digital camouflage patterns. There’s no denying that camouflage patterns are the best way to protect soldiers on the battlefield.

  5. Urban pattern military camouflage

What is Camouflage

Camouflage is defined as the use of disruptive patterns, colors, shapes, and intensities of objects or backgrounds to confuse a potential attacker, which makes it difficult to locate them with the naked eye.

The most common forms of camouflage are natural, artificial, and digital. Natural camouflage is made from natural elements and features of the environment such as rocks, trees, and foliage.

Camouflage is the art of making things invisible to the human eye. Camouflage patterns are used by many countries worldwide to hide soldiers and tanks from view, and they have been around for a very long time. In World War I and II, camouflage was a vital part of the overall strategy for warfare.

The US Army began using camouflage in World War II, and their design and application were influenced by both German and Japanese military tactics.

While most countries use camouflage to protect themselves on the battlefield, there are some countries that have used it as a tool for deception.

There are two types of camouflage, artificial camouflage and digital camouflage. The artificial camouflage is created by using man-made materials to create patterns that resemble natural environments.

The digital camouflage is created by changing the colors of objects to match the colors of the background.

What is the difference between the two types of camouflage?

Digital camouflage uses algorithms to change the colors of objects in the image so it looks like there is nothing in the scene. This is done by adjusting the color of pixels to make them look similar to the background.

Artificial camouflage is a process of creating patterns that simulate the environment. It’s like a person wearing a disguise. They use man-made materials to make the pattern.

Digital camouflage uses algorithms to change the colors of objects in the image so it looks like there is nothing in the scene.

This is done by adjusting the color of pixels to make them look similar to the background. Artificial camouflage is a process of creating patterns that simulate the environment.

Snow Pattern Military Camouflage

Although the weather man may not agree, we actually do have the ideal winter weather conditions now, and with global warming there is no telling what the weather will be like next winter.

It is important to get prepared for any type of weather condition that may occur. The snow camouflage is useful when snow covers the landscape during military operation.

However, the traditional solid white snow camouflage doesn’t work well in terrain where the snow cover is uneven and features shadows and textures and where rocks and dry vegetation break the blanket of snow.

When the trees are bare and there is some snow on the ground but the bushes, shrubs and other foliage are not bare, a good choice is the solid white with include the appearance of grass, tree branches or even stalks. This will make you very hard to see, which is good if you are sneaking up on someone.

It also works well for hiding behind things like a tree or building, or even in a bush or other type of vegetation. This pair of ski pants looks good when blending in with the snow on the ski slopes or in the forest where you’re not going to have a lot of light.

Assume that the forest or other background is darker than the snowy ground. When it comes to the dark backdrop, the upper body gear (the vest, the police-issue duty belt, the police-issued utility belt, the police-issued flashlight, the police-issued nightstick, the police-issued Kevlar helmet, the police-issued gas mask, etc.

When it comes to camouflage gear, you can’t go wrong with green or woodland camouflage combat gear. Whether necessary or not, camouflage in your gear can be done in multiple ways.

Some examples included that pine needles. A little color never hurt anyone, especially when it comes to concealing your face. Just make sure it’s either a black or dark green camouflage face paint.

Snow Camouflage Outfit is a good choice when the weather conditions are extremely harsh and there is a lot of snow everywhere.

The white camouflage on a dark background, is effective in a snowy forest. It makes you disappear, like magic. You need to select a material that doesn’t suck in moisture and harden into sticks when it gets cold out

Camouflaging the rest of the gear can be much more difficult than camouflaging the rifle. Many times, it’s simply impractical to camouflage the rest of the gear because it’s mostly green or in a woodland camo pattern.

Camouflage the weapon in such a way that it will not be noticed. A completely black gun is easy to spot on a snowy background, and on a snowy camouflage-covered combatant, so it is good to camouflage the weapon as well.

The easiest solution by buying a white or snow camo wrap or snow camo tape. A simple way to “paint” a camo pattern onto the gear is to use black shoe polish. Simply paint the black polish onto the area of your gear you want to camouflage, let it dry, and then brush or rub off the excess polish.

Jungle Pattern Military Camouflage

Jungle Camouflage materials are made with dyes that match their surroundings, like the natural colors of leaves, birds, and animals. Jungle warfare is typically fought in forests and jungles, where the combatants try to blend into their surroundings.

Camouflage is typically green and brown, so the warriors will more easily be able to spot each other. That’s because those colors keep you the most inconspicuous in conditions where others might be wearing bright, bold colors. To ensure complete concealment, soldiers paint their faces with colors matching the camouflage material.

The camouflaged fabric may have one color or it may have several colors, but they are all generally similar in hue and brightness. The reason for using this sort of pattern is that it is visually disruptive.

The meandering lines of the mottled camouflage pattern help conceal the contours of the body. In nature, the “lines” of different objects (like animals or plants) often match up, even when they are not actually connected.

This “pattern matching” happens all the time in the natural world. When you wear this piece of camouflage clothing, your brain will think you are camouflaged among the trees and bushes and not be aware of your presence.

Camouflage netting and chicken wire are also items that soldiers often carry around with them. They use these items for a couple of different purposes; the first is to help them blend in with their surroundings. The second purpose is that they use these items to cover up their tracks when they’re leaving an area.

Our minds naturally separate things into categories. These categories help us quickly identify and process information. When you hear the word “categorize”, you instantly think of boxes. There are many types of boxes: When you look at a scene, you are gathering a lot of information at once.

There is so much happening all around you that you need to use your brain to put together everything you are seeing and feeling. In order for your unconscious mind to process all this info, your brain has to assimilate it as one big picture, complex whole. A tree. That’s what your brain is telling you when it sees a long, vertical area of brown connected to a horizontal line of color. What happens when your brain perceives many, many individual trees? You perceive a forest.

Urban Pattern Military Camouflage

Developing effective camouflage for urban operations is very challenging. Camouflage color and patterns (shapes) in a combat uniform must provide the least amount of contrast between the soldier and his background. Breaking up or distorting those recognizable features of the soldier, his silhouette, and his outline must be important in order to avoid detection. Urban camouflage combat uniforms must be effective across the widest variety of urban environments.

In urban environments, camouflage requirements are much more demanding than those of woodland or desert terrain. Closely observed, they translate to smaller, more compact designs with shorter merge distances. And, they often call for more straight edge camouflage which blends better with the background of urban structures and their surroundings. Urban camouflage for urban areas would generally mimic city spectral reflectance of road and building materials, asphalt, concrete, gravel, steel, brick, wood, stucco, etc.

Urban camouflage effectiveness study were as follows: the lighter colored patterned uniforms blended best across the stucco and cinder block buildings which comprised the three day sites.

These were the two 2-color light grey and medium grey urban patterned uniforms, and the 3-color desert camouflage uniform. The darker uniforms – the black flight suit, the woodland camouflage uniform and the monotone grey urban camouflage uniform- blended the poorest across the three day sites.

The woodland uniform and 3 color urban camouflage uniform did not perform well at the urban night site. The darker color suits performed better than the three color medium grey urban camouflage, and the monotone gray uniforms. This is to be expected, because the darker colored suits absorbed less of the ambient light hitting the observer and gave a stronger contrast signal to the passive night vision device.

A soldier who is wearing a reversible uniform will be able to operate effectively in both urban and outdoor environments. By having a developmental pattern on one side and a desert pattern on the other, he will be able to switch between these two patterns as conditions change.

The Army may also use rapidly deployable urban camouflage. This will be done using a combination of specially developed algorithms that gather information about the environment and present it to the soldier who then selects the disruptive pattern, the optimum color combination and designs the fabric for the environment.

Therefore, the most effective camouflage pattern depends on the military operation environment. The camouflage techniques will continuously improve for the military to hide under human vision.
