This MP5 gun is one of the most realistic-looking and feeling BB guns on the market. The cylinder for the CO2 is actually the inside of the barrel and it makes it easier to load and reload. It also holds a full magazine so you don’t have to refill the CO2 as often.
Upgrade the next model to include a 3 round burst and full auto. The gun comes with top rails for mounting optics if you buy the package that includes the red dot. Optics (usually just called “sights” on AR-15/M16s) are a big part of the fun and accuracy of this weapon. They really up the accuracy and fun.

Heckler & Koch MP5
A submachine gun (SMMG) is a machine gun (MG), which uses ammunition fired from a shorter barrel than is used by a rifle. It is distinguished by having a shorter overall length, which makes it easier to handle, and can fire faster and straighter than a rifle. The submachine gun design originated in Germany during World War I.

MP5 History
The Heckler & Koch series of weapons include four types of firearms all based on a common G3 design layout and operating principle.
The MP5 was created within the fourth group of firearms and was initially known as the HK54. Work on the MP5 began in 1964 and two years later it was adopted by the German Federal Police, border guard and army special forces, referring to as the “MP64” or later “MP5“. It went on to become a favourite of police officers and military special forces around the world, and was later adopted by many non-military special forces.
The MP5 is a very effective and reliable weapon. It’s been in use by the military for over 50 years, and it remains a mainstay of modern armies. However, some modern users have called for improvements to the design of the weapon, and have even petitioned to have it taken out of service.
In 1980, the MP5 achieved iconic status as a result of the SAS when they stormed the Iranian Embassy in London, live on television. It was a moment that changed the way the public looked at the British military and it was also a great publicity coup for the SAS.
The MP5 is a fully-automatic submachine gun that was designed in Germany.
Design Details
The MP5A2 is an assault rifle developed by Heckler & Koch. It’s an ultra-lightweight automatic weapon, firing 9×19mm Parabellum rounds, and is generally used by infantry personnel.
The fixed, free floating, cold hammer-forged barrel has 6 right-hand grooves with a 1 in 250mm (1:10 in) rifling twist rate. It is pressed and pinned into the receiver.
Features
The MP5 is a semi-automatic firearm made by Heckler and Koch. The trigger group and three-position safety toggle are housed in an interchangeable polymer trigger module and the trigger guard is removable to make it ambidextrous. The pistol grip on the MP5 includes a front sight, but no rear sight and a red dot optical sight. The trigger pull is crisp with no creep or pull force required to fire.
Operating Mechanism
The bolt locks into place, making it very difficult to remove, while at the same time, having a quick and easy way to release. This is similar to the G3 rifle, where there are two parts to the bolt, one part which is rigid and another that is capable of moving.
The heavy bolt carrier rests up against the bolt head when the weapon is ready to fire and inclined planes on the front locking piece lie between the rollers and force them out into recesses in the barrel extension. When fired, expanding propellant gases produced from the burning powder in the cartridge exert rearward pressure on the bolt head transferred through the base of the cartridge case as it is propelled out of the chamber.
A portion of this force is transmitted through the rollers projecting from the bolt head, which are cammed inward against the inclined flanks of the locking recesses in the barrel extension and to the angled shoulders of the locking piece. This creates a ratio of about 4:1 between the bolt carrier and the bolt head, which means that the firing pin hits the cartridge case at an angle of 90 degrees.
This results in a calculated delay, allowing the projectile to exit the barrel and gas pressure to drop to a safe level before the case is extracted from the chamber. The delay results from the amount of time it takes for enough recoil energy to be transferred through to the bolt carrier in a sufficient quantity for it to be driven to the rear against the force of inertia of the bolt carrier and the forward pressure exerted against the bolt by the recoil spring.
As the rollers are forced inward they displace the locking piece and propel the bolt carrier to the rear. The bolt carrier’s rearward velocity is four times that of the bolt head since the cartridge remains in the chamber for a short period of time during the initial recoil impulse.
Accessories
The MP5 is one of the most popular submachine guns on the market. Unfortunately, its cyclic rate makes it too slow to use at more than point blank range. In the early ’70s, HK developed a modification that enables the gun to fire.22 LR, thus making it more versatile.

Receiver
The receiver housing has a proprietary claw-rail mounting system that permits the attachment of a standard Heckler & Koch quick-detachable scope mount (also used with the G3, HK33 and G3SG/1..
The scope mount comes with two spring-actuated bolts positioned along the base of the mount, which exert pressure on the receiver to hold the mount in the same position at all times. This makes sure that the mount will always stay attached to the rifle, even when shooting.
The quick-detachable scope mount provides a sighting tunnel to ensure that the shooter can continue to use the fixed iron sights with the scope attached to the top of the receiver.
A Picatinny rail adapter can be used to attach sights, lasers or other accessories to a firearm. It is typically a simple clamp-on design that allows the attachment of small devices, such as scopes, laser pointers, and mounts, to firearms.
Handguard

Variants
The MP5A2 has a fixed buttstock (made of a synthetic polymer), whereas the compact MP5A3 has a retractable metal stock. The stockless MP5A1 has a buttcap with a sling mount for concealed carry; the MP5K series was a further development of this idea.
The MP5A4 (fixed stock) and MP5A5 (sliding stock) models, which were introduced in 1974, are available with four-position trigger groups. The pistol grips are straight, lacking the contoured grip and thumb groove of the MP5A1, MP5A2, and MP5A3.
The selector lever stop is used to ensure the weapon is loaded and the user does not accidentally fire the weapon. It is found on the forward of the weapon and is used by the user to ensure the weapon is in the safe position when not in use.
The additional settings on the selector of the AR-15 and the M4 rifle enable a burst firing.
This model has a collapsible stock, a tritium-illuminated front sight post and a stainless steel sound suppressor made by Knight’s Armament Company. It also uses the quietest ammunition possible, which reduces sound while keeping recoil low.
MP5SF
The MP5SFA2 (SF – single-fire) was developed in 1986 in response to the American FBI solicitation for a “9mm Single-fire Carbine”.
The MP5SFA3 is similar to the MP5A3 in that it is a selective fire machine pistol with a fixed stock and no ability to change the weapon’s configuration.
The semi-automatic “MP5SF” models are commonly used by British police forces including London’s Metropolitan Police Service, Diplomatic Protection Group, Authorised Firearms Officers and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
The two-position trigger unit was used in the HK94 carbine that was produced specifically for the civilian market with a 420mm (16.5in) barrel.
MP5SD
In 1984 H&K designed the HK 417 submachine gun, which is the predecessor of the HK 417 series of semi-automatic rifles. In 1989 they made their first semi-automatic pistol, the MP 5 SD, which featured a lightweight polymer frame with a single action trigger mechanism and an integral suppressor.
The weapon’s barrel has 30 small ports located just forward of the chamber. When the weapon is fired the ports prevent the propellant gases from entering the barrel bore. This keeps the gases inside the case where they can safely expand and escape.
The suppressor is a complex device which has many components. Its first stage is to create an expansion chamber so that the high pressure gases of the propellant are slowed down in the suppressor. This is the purpose of the suppressor and it is not only used for guns but other weapons as well.
The second stage of a suppressor consists of a long barrel that is partially filled with a helical spring. When the gun fires, the spring unwinds to act like a slinky and push back into the suppressor to muffle the sound.
A suppressor is a device used to reduce the report of a firearm, typically by converting most of the energy of a bullet or shotgun shell into heat and sound, but it can be used to alter the ballistics of a particular firearm, as well. The suppressor uses vents to dissipate energy that would otherwise generate noise and vibration in an uncontrolled fashion.
MP5K
The MP5K is a compact and lightweight sub-machine gun with an adjustable gas operated, double action trigger. Its 9mm Parabellum cartridge has an intermediate ball bullet.
The MP5K does not have a shoulder stock (the receiver end was covered with a flat end cap, featuring a buffer on the inside and a sling loop on the outside), and the bolt and receiver were shortened at the rear. It is a compact, lightweight machine that is easy to carry and store.
The result was a rifle that was shorter, lighter and quicker to fire than the standard MP5. The barrel was shortened, the barrel’s handguard and other parts were replaced with an angled hand guard that replaced the standard one and an integrated vertical foregrip replaced the standard handguard.
The MP5K is a submachine gun chambered in 9mm and available in either 62×39 or 56mm variants. It is produced by Heckler & Koch, licensed by Heckler & Koch GmbH and sold to various foreign military, police and civilian end users. It is the smallest HK GPMG.
The MP5K retained the ability to use optical sights through the use of an adapter. A civilian semi-automatic derivative of the MP5K known as the SP89 was produced that had a foregrip with a muzzle guard in place of the vertical grip.
Manufacturers
China has a rich history of manufacturing weapons. From tanks and missiles to guns and military equipment, they’ve made many of the world’s finest weapons. The Norinco MP5A4 is one of them.
MAS manufactures MP5F submachine guns in France, as well as the FN FAL rifle. Greece has made its own copy of the FN FAL, known as the Elliniki Aminta Systima “Hellenic Defence Systems” (EAS).

The Swiss Arms AR-15 is the first variant of the AR-15 rifle and is manufactured by Brügger & Thomet. It features a shortened receiver, no forward assist, and an extended buffer tube, along with a new stock design.
Larger Caliber
In 1992, Heckler & Koch introduced the MP5/10 (chambered in 10mm Auto) and MP5/40 (chambered for the.40 S&W cartridge), which are based on the MP5A4 and MP5A5. The MP5/10 and MP5/40 were assembled in fixed and retractable stock configurations with no designation.

Both weapons use a barrel with 6 right-hand grooves and a barrel length of 380 mm. They also have a 3-lugged muzzle device and a tritium-illuminated front sight aiming dot.
Heckler and Koch (H&K) stopped making the MP5 series of machine pistols in 2000 due to quality and reliability issues. The company later offered replacement parts for the pistols, but ceased production of the weapons altogether in 2005.
