Beretta M84FS CO2 BB Pistol #136

beretta m84

VALUE FOR MONEY

The Beretta M84FS CO2 BB Pistol has a street price of around $90. It’s a very competitive gun, and it plays in an extremely competitive section of the market.

You can find many other choices of replica BBs for this price, as well as revolvers and semi-automatics.

This is a real Beretta M84FS pistol. It’s a bit smaller than most CO2 pistols, but it has an attractive design and realistic look that will turn heads wherever you go. It has a good shot count, realistic weight, a high muzzle velocity and good accuracy.

REALISM – LOOKS AND FEEL

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol has good realistic looks. It features the same sleek, matte-finished stainless steel slide, frame and barrel as its predecessor and comes in a black plastic carrying case.

Pietro Beretta’s name and serial number markings are almost exactly the same as the firearm that was originally sold to the customer. There is a joint between the two halves of the frame and this is somewhat unsightly.

The gun was so quiet, you had to be right next to it to hear it. The only other real departure from the firearm in appearance is caused by the plastic CO2 cartridge tightening key at the base of the magazine.

The first HAM tester wrote about this in the feedback section of the survey after he had read about it in the interview. Once he saw how effective this was in the interview, it ceased to be a problem for him.

At 23 ounces, the weight of the Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol is equal to that of its firearm counterpart. Takedown is carried out in the same manner as with the firearm, using the lever and pin provided in the frame. The slide lifts off.

ACCURACY AND POINT OF IMPACT

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol works really well at short distances, but it’s not as accurate as some other designs. All the standard HAM test BBs are centered well on the bull of the target.

This air pistol replicates the sound and feel of the Mod 84 FS, a firearm developed by the German firm of Walther in the late 1980s. Accurey was easily within “minute of soda can” at 6 yards for the Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol.

The best groups were obtained with the Umarex Steel BB and the Avanti Precision Ground Shot. The Beretta Mod 84FS hold all 10 shots inside the soda can target.

This is creditable shooting for a compact, blowback BB replica air pistol. It’s one of the best in this price range. When a company has a test record like this, it’s worth reading. The best rifle ever made is the Mod 84, and now we can see why.

COMPARISON TO MAKERS CLAIMS

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol fires a maximum muzzle velocity of 360 fps. In 10-shot groups, an average of about 330-350 fps was seen for HAM tests.

The first shots fired with both the Hornady Black Diamond and Avanti Precision Ground Shot pellets clocked 359 fps, with a slightly slower rate of 356 fps for the first shot with Avanti Precision Ground Shot.

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol is accurate at a range of only 50 yards and can be fired from a cold start. It’s therefore no surprise that this handgun is as reliable as its claims.

This camera will exceed the 360 fps claim at temperatures in the 80s, and it’s also weatherproof, so it’s perfect for those outdoor adventures. This was achieved easily with all the standard HAM test BBs.

CONSISTENCY

Consistency is a strong suit for the Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol, and for good reason. In all of our tests, the Beretta’s barrel performed extremely well.

You can clearly see from the test targets that the Mod 84FS shot accurately with all of the types of BB tested by HAM. The point of impact was also quite consistent. The standard deviation for all HAM targets was very low.

The trigger pull weights were also consistent, ranging only plus or minus 4 Ounces around the heavier 9 lb 2 oz average trigger pull. The best BB gun for your money will produce the best velocity and consistent shot, and you can get the most velocity and consistency with a slow-fire type.

If you keep the bow string warm by resting it between strings, it’ll return some of its speed and you won’t need as much time to draw back. You can clearly see that as each of the strings were fired, the muzzle velocity steadily declined.

The Beretta Mod 84FS is made with high-quality materials and assembled by skilled professionals. It is perfectly manufactured and a perfect weapon to have in your collection.

REALISM – TRIGGER AND ACTION

This trigger weighs approximately 9 Lbs and works in double action only. This is a very close replica of the actual trigger. It was first used in WW2 by German soldiers and they called it the “Long Schmeisser”.

While a firearm is more effective than a bow, a bow is more effective than a firearm, because a firearm’s trigger pull is too soft. This rough spot was felt just before the gun fired and may be caused by the bullet feeding mechanism.

The ambidextrous safety works well, and blocks the trigger very firmly. The Beretta 91/15 is just like the Beretta 92/96 in that it has a semi-automatic action but does not have the de-cocking feature of the original Bere

The slide travel isn’t very good, and it tends to get stuck under blowback, but it doesn’t move all the way back. The first time I watched an NHL game, the play-by-play guy mentioned that the Leafs have a lot of shots, and there was this big sigh of relief.

SHOT COUNT

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol tested by HAM gave 99 shots at 67 degrees F with a muzzle velocity of above 260 fps from one 12 gram CO2 cartridge.

From here on, the gun would make more shots at a low muzzle velocity by manually cocking the hammer. But blowback operation stopped at shot 99, so we’re treating this as the shot count.

Here is a magazine that is manufactured of plastic and a metal valve section. This is a great CO2 powered pistol and – like the best muzzle velocities – would work better in a warmer environment.

The Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol is a great choice. It has a higher muzzle velocity and a higher shot count than other blowback BB pistols.

MUZZLE VELOCITY

The Beretta M9-84FS pistol tested by HAM gave high muzzle velocities for a BB pistol at the ambient range temperature of 67 degrees F.

The highest muzzle velocity was obtained using 5.32 Grain ASG Blaster BBs.

APPEARANCE AND FINISH

The appearance of the Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol is very realistic. There are no major differences between this version and the original firearm. The overall appearance and proportions are dead on.

It’s hard to tell from a distance, but there is no doubt that the firearm has been designed to kill. You’ll notice that the matt black finish of the external aluminum components are a slightly different color from the original.

This is common to many replica air pistols, but this one looks pretty good.

BUYING AND OWNING

The Beretta M4 Mod 84FS has the shortest pull to operate (less than 1 inch) of any BB replica air gun that we have tested. The BB follower holds on to your phone and has a large, chamfered hole for the Bb’s to fall into.

The Mod 84FS is designed to be completely reliable and dependable. During every test session there was no jamming, no feed failures, and no issues whatsoever.

The author of “The Complete Guide to High-Speed BBs” claims that there’s a real need for a BB with high-powered bullets; he recommends the HAM High-Cap. The operator’s manual for the Beretta Mod 84FS blowback pistol is well-illustrated.

Webley Nemesis CO2 Air Pistol #135

webley nemesis

Webley Nemesis CO2 Air Pistol

The best air pistol out there is the Webley Nemesis CO2 Air Pistol. This multi-shot, bolt action pistol is full of appealing features that will appeal to both plinkers and target shooters.

This gun features a dual magazine system with two chambers that hold up to 12 rounds each in.177 and 7 rounds each in.22. The gun’s trigger allows for a rapid fire rate of 14 in.

Pull the bolt back to index the magazine to the next pellet. If you’ve shot about half of the pellets from your first cylinder, take the mag and flip it over so it’s upside down. Then, you have to shoot the second cylinder.

A perfect blend of quality and speed that lets me get my daily tasks done quickly without having to think about it!

The Webley Nemesis is powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge. It spits out lead pellets up to 450 fps in. There’s more to the Amazon app than the basics. It comes with loads of features, including a search tool, comparison chart, and price checker.

There are many ways to mount an optic on a rifle, such as the use of a forward assist device. There’s a Picatinny rail for accessories on the forend of the pistol. With the Nemesis, you don’t have to worry about swapping bolts or swapping parts. It’s an amazing piece of equipment!

This little revolver even includes a single-shot tray and has storage in the grip for your magazine. And the grip cap comes with the Allen key for your CO2 piercing screw built in, so it’s always on board!

Webley Nemesis Feeling

There’s nothing quite like a CO2 Pellet Gun, so if you’re looking for something fun and unique for a birthday or Christmas present, the Webley Nemesis may be a good choice. These are the first CO2 pellet pistols that offer a rotary magazine, allowing the user to fire more shots without reloading.

Being able to quickly work the bolt action of a shotgun without having to place pellets in the breech area sure speeds things up.

On the box, Webley claims it’s maximum velocity as high as 420 fps with the.177 caliber version. The Nemesis Pellet pistol is a really cool CO2 gun and I was able to get 430 fps using a brand new CO2 along with RWS 6.9 grain lead pellets.

I found the RWS pellets would not feed as well for me. The pellets were too narrow, and the RWS magazines could not hold enough for the pellets to feed through easily. It was a fairly normal temperature, just below room temperature.

Trigger Pull

The trigger pull on the Webley Nemesis Bolt Action CO2 Pellet Pistol is rather good, but you’ll need some practice before you can use it with accuracy. There is just a little bit of take up with a light and crisp release.

You need to pull the trigger to the rear to get it to fire.

The Webley Nemesis Bolt Action CO2 Pellet Pistol is a highlight of this air gun. The trigger is one of the best in its class, which makes it very enjoyable to shoot.

The Webley Nemesis Pellet Pistol is a very good pellet gun with potential for up close pest control. It’s also fun to shoot with nice high consistent fps and excellent accuracy.

Build Quality

I’m not sure how heavy the gun is made from or if it has metal internal components but the pistol itself looks pretty darn good on the outside with just a matte black finish and a nice hard plastic grip.

I agree the Air Rifle and the Air Pistol both look very high quality, with a nice fit and finish. I feel the metal of the barrels are much more realistic than the plastic.

It is realistic looking like the old Webley Nemesis guns, it shoots pellet ammunition (like the ones used by airsoft) and I like that aspect of it.

Pros

The first multi-shot pistol I have come across was a CO2 pellet pistol. The power and accuracy are very good. There is a top built in Dovetail rail that can be used to add a red dot or optical sight to it. The bottom of the Weaver Picatinny rail can be used to add a laser or a tac light.

There is a modern look to it for a target pellet pistol. The steel barrel has a rifle on it. There are fiber optic sights that can be adjusted to fit windage. There is a nice light and short single action triggering. The storage compartment for the Allen key and magazine is built into the airgun. It would be great for small pest control because of good accuracy and decent fps.

Cons

Doesn’t like all the pellet sections. It’s not possible to change sight for elevation.

Seneca Double Shot .50 cal Double Barrel Shotgun #134

Seneca Double Shot .50 cal Double Barrel Shotgun

The Seneca Double Shot combines a patented air distributor with an ergonomic design and barrel selector dial, and is available in both single shot and double shot versions.

Easily the most flexible big bore system on the market: Double Shot delivers a decisive one-two punch to medium and large game with any combination of.50 caliber ammo, shotshells, and the Air Venturi Air Bolt.

This shotgun is loaded with two loaded chambers. Load both chambers and rack the bolt. When you’re ready, pull the trigger and fire your shot. The bolt will automatically release, and you’ll rack the bolt and repeat until you’ve completed the sequence.

When aiming, use the traditional shotgun style bead sight, or the 11mm dovetail rail to mount the scope of your choice.

Content

This is a must-have for every auto body repair shop and works as well as a larger gun for small jobs. It can provide up to 5 shots per fill. This high pressure translates to incredible velocities with up to 1,300 fps with shotshells.

The Double Shot Rifle can sling.50 caliber big bore ammo and a revolutionary new air-slinging system that can shoot over 170 fps on target.

Each shotgun offers the iconic actions and finely grained hardwood stocks you’ve come to expect from a brand that pays homage to the golden age of the hunt.

The Seneca Double Shot is a very versatile and powerful big bore PCP shotgun that doubles down on power. It makes a good choice for home defense or hunting out of doors.

This is a PCP single shot rifle that can sling.50 caliber rounds downrange one shot after the next. It’s perfect for hunting small game such as birds and rabbits.

Large game hunters load slugs or rounds for their gun. They use slugs or round balls to kill animals large or small. Air bolts are used for hunting big game from the air.

Bolt Slinger

The double shot gun will fit right onto your hand so it can be used with one hand to help steady the gun while shooting at a target. It’s designed to allow for fast shooting by providing rapid air in and out and faster speeds. With air vents in the barrel, it’s designed to turn the air into a hard hitting arrow. It’s even capable of speeds up to 425 FPS and 170 FPE.

Seneca Double Shot Barrel Shotgun Operation

I took my new AR-15 out for the first time yesterday morning. I wanted to test it out and get several promo type photos for this report. I took both guns with me to make sure they would be adequate to hunt with. The cocking bolt is the only part of the rifle that needed assembly. Very easy to assemble with the provided allen key.

Marley and I went to our remote location in the mountains in California. It’s perfect for testing this rifle. The Double Shot is a great rifle that I enjoy shooting. It’s very light at 7. I really enjoyed the gun. It was very easy to use with a standard foster fitting and a snap-on cap.

It’s a very good gun for its price, and I recommend it to all my friends. Marley and I set off on a hike North, hoping to spot some quail, cottontail and jackrabbits. The gun felt very heavy, but once I got used to it, it wasn’t that bad. Within several minutes of hiking I had seen two Jackrabbits running up the hillsides at over 100 yards away.

Marley and I took off on a hike up to some mountains with the hopes of getting some better images of Rabbits as well as Quails. We were now several miles from the Jeep and decided to take a much needed break from the 80+ degree weather.

We had some pumpkins at 20 yards, and took turns blowing them off the log. After seeing the damage left in their wake, it’s clear just how powerful these guns are. The shot penetrated through with ease, with a heavier load it is sure to explode.

Hunting is something we still enjoy, even though we no longer get to get out to hunt with some awesome airguns.

We got to rest and had some lunch. My legs were so sore from all the hiking I did that day. We want to know if the rifle can do what it is designed to do. The Air Venturi Air Bolts are.50 in size and made from a carbon fiber shaft with finely machined aluminum tips

A broadhead is a fixed blade for small game hunting with any size blade. The first thing you want to do with your Air Bolts, slugs, and round balls is to remove the chokes

In order to do this, they simply unscrew the barrel from the receiver, and then install a choke. Once we’ve removed the chokes, we can insert the air-bolt from the muzzle end of the shotgun.

The Air Venturi Air Bolts use the same principle as the Air Venturi, it just uses compressed air instead of water and works in a similar fashion. It can deliver up to 245 foot pounds of kinetic energy!

The Air Bolt is quickly inserted into the muzzle end of the rifle. With a twisting motion, the flights go through the barrel. I shot several test photos with my new camera and am amazed at both the accuracy and power of this thing.

I was so disappointed because this was my first try at shooting the bow and I did such a good job of it. Then, it went through my target and hit the tree behind it. The arrow was in the tree so deeply that you couldn’t remove it without breaking the shaft.

These air bolts are not cheap, but if you use them correctly and only shoot them at large game animals, they can be extremely deadly. I was amazed how close I could get to this target at 35 yards.

If you’ve never tried to mount a scope to a long gun before, you might want to start out with the simplest setup possible. With that in mind, it’s probably best to use an open sights system.

This week, I have enjoyed the Seneca Double Shot Air Rifle, it’s versatility and fun is near impossible to beat.

I was pretty skeptical when I first used it, but it didn’t take long to satisfy me. You’ll want to add this to your wish list if you’re serious about hunting.

With a little practice you could become quite efficient with this amazing gun.

Pros

It’s easy to fill great power with the lightweight design.

Cons

Shot shells and Air Bolts cost more than a buddy bottle for long trips.

SIG Sauer MCX Pellet Rifle Gen 2, Black #133

sig sauer mcx

VALUE FOR MONEY

The SIG Sauer MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle performs well. It’s reliable, accurate, and lightweight.

The answer is pretty well. As you’ll read below, a test conducted by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association revealed that the Canebrake is more accurate.

Canebreak says it wants a muzzle velocity of up to 600 FPS, compared to 545 FPS for the MCX Gen 2. In both cases, HAM testing found these specs were easily exceeded. This latest version of the MCX has a new “flat” trigger blade.

There’s a new pistol grip and buttstock on the rifle. Compared to the “Gen 1” MCX, the KeyMod accessory slots in the fore end are replaced by MLOK slots, and they have better ergonomics, too.

These are all good things that make the new Gen 2 MCX easy to justify an impressive HAM Silver Award for its performance, quality, and value.

REALISM – LOOKS AND FEEL

It closely resembles the centerfire SIG MCX Gen 2 rifle, but is a bit lighter, with less felt recoil. The M24 CCO is a unique and innovative assault rifle, offering a one-shot burst mode that is the fastest in its class.

A great addition to the PPCR line, the MCX has representations of the stock, centerfire revolver, and semi-auto features and controls. The ambidextrous safety, magazine release and charging handle are all functional.

However, the bolt catch and the left side mag release aren’t, and the ejection port cover isn’t. This gun has an integrated silencer that doesn’t affect the performance. There are so many options with the MCX-Gen2 Pellet Rifle.

There’s a wide variety of accessories you can purchase for your air rifle. Here’s an example of a new product I wanted to share: A bipod for a new product, UTG Recon Flex M-Lok bipod legs from Leapers.

The tripod legs helped make sure that the MCX had a solid base for the camera to be mounted on, even when being used at a fixed shooting angle. The new gun is comfortable to hold, and the pistol grip is different from the previous version, but it still doesn’t have an external trap door or cover.

ACCURACY AND POINT OF IMPACT

The SIG MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle is supplied with SIG’s standard BUIS iron sights. These are the standard adjustable for elevation and windage in the manner of M16 sights.

The front sight is height adjustable. The rear sight has the ability to be adjusted using the same tool. The front end of this rifle features a short, straight, non-reciprocating stock for fast follow-up shots.

With a full metal body and a very solid top Picatinny rail, the MCX is perfect for home defense or tactical military applications. We mounted a Leapers UTG Bugbuster 3-9 x 32AO scope there, together with a UTG riser to achieve a more comfortable eyeline when testing the gun

The UTG Bugbuster was a perfect fit with the MCX for size and looks. It is a small, light, and ideal for shooters who typically need compact cameras for shooting sports, events, travel, and other activities.

At 10 yards, these HAM bullets will be very accurate for any shooter with practice and the right ammo. The new Canesbrake had better accuracy than the one we tested last year.

At 25 Yards, the SIG MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle shoots about half as many pellets than the Canebrake.

COMPARISON TO MAKERS CLAIMS

SIG claims that the MCX Gen 2 offers “authentic weight, balance and handling”.

As the HAM Test Team has not handled the firearm version of the MCX, we believe this to be true based on Internet searching.

This new MCX offers Muzzle Velocity, which gives the gun an extra boost when pulling the trigger.

The maximum frame rate is listed as “up to 545 frames per second” right on the box. This firearm will work! It was tested by HAM in the lab, and it produced a maximum of 608 FPS at 69 degrees F.

Based on testing with other CO2-powered air rifles, the MCX will increase in muzzle velocity and peak velocity by about 2 FPS per degree Farenheit and the maximum temperature approached is about 95 degrees.

This firearm shoots accurately and reliably every time out of the box, and should not need any adjustment whatsoever for your use. And all you need to do to benefit from this velocity increase is to hold the trigger down and hold it steady while shooting on a hot day.

SIG claims that the SIG MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle has a new trigger that has an improved pull. From the results of the HAM tests, it’s clear that there’s a big difference between these products.

The “Gen 1” MCX tested by HAM gave an average trigger pull weight of 8 lbs, 11 oz. It should be noted that SIG MCX Gen 2 pellet rifles have an average pull weight of 6 lb 13 ozs.

The big difference makes the Gen 2 model much easier to fire for extended periods of time.

I don’t think it would be fair to put the full name of the gun into a sentence without context. I don’t think that it would be a good idea to use the name of the gun to create a brand, either.

At the range, it’s a little more complex. You don’t want to get to the stage where you have your finger pressed against the trigger. The MCX Gen 2 air rifle doesn’t feel like a semi-auto, but it’s actually a double-action revolver. It’s powered by a high pressure cylinder that advances the next pellet.

That’s why the trigger pull weight is relatively heavy. The magazine latch lever is a nice feature of the Glock 17, it is not easy to find this lever on a smaller semi-auto pistol.

That is a DA revolver and it is the same as used in all SIG’s pellet guns. I don’t think many owners are interested in shooting this gun. The SIG MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle goes off each time the trigger is pulled.

It’s a semi-automatic, and you could probably get by with it. Owners who are knowledgeable will understand that it’s part of what a franchise is all about, and will accept the actions for what they are.

CONSISTENCY

The range of a CO2-powered airgun is affected by the degree of variation in the velocity of the pellets through the barrel. Trigger pull weight of the averaged 6 pounds, 13 ounces.

The results of the survey are showing that the average woman’s dress size ranges from 14 Lbs 3 Oz to 16 Lbs 10 Oz, which is really good.

For many years, we have been using our original measuring ruler, which was an old, vintage-looking tool, until we received it from a friend who had purchased it a long time ago.

REALISM – TRIGGER AND ACTION

There is nothing we can add to what has already been said in the “Comparisons”. Because it doesn’t have a blowback effect, there’s no need to cover it further here other than to mention.

The metal trigger blade pulls back through a long first stage, then through an unpredictable second stage, until you feel the significant but predictable resistance. Pull back harder and the gun fires after a slightly longer travel.

HAM gun tester Stephen Archer considered the trigger pull felt best if it was pulled back fast and hard. That’s a good way to shoot. But if you want to get the highest score, you need to aim well.

The trigger pull weight isn’t very high, but it does feel heavier than the 6 Lb trigger pull. This might be because of the comfortable hand position provided by the pistol grip, which gives the MCX a more solid feel.

My Ruger M77 weighs in at just under 9 lbs with the attached 6x scope. The safety is also ambidextrous. If you want to shoot fast, shoot low. It’s best to have your shooting hand near the trigger.

The trigger is very easy to manipulate, and there’s no “auto fire” feature like on many CO2-powered long guns. This means you have to hold the trigger and pull the whole time until the weapon fires.

It’s only operated once, so the cocking effort for the MCX Gen 2 pellet rifle is close to zero.

SHOT COUNT

When using the M-Cock Gen 2, it’s important to keep track of how many shots you get out of it and not just how many it will take to fill up again. In HAM structured testing, we fired over 200 rounds on the same, original CO2 cartridge.

If you’re getting your shots to fall in the range of 250 – 300, your results will be different based on your shooting conditions.

APPEARANCE AND FINISH

As with all SIG Air products, the appearance and quality of the MCX Gen 2 are outstanding!

The quality of the parts of the watch that comprise the exterior surfaces is very good. All the parts were clearly finished and assembly was meticulous.

Yes, this is yet another “black rifle”, but a closer look reveals precision molds of the synthetic parts, high-quality metal castings, and a range of high quality finishes.

BUYING AND OWNING

This is the latest model of the Sig MCX Gen 2 rifle which uses the now-familiar 30 round magazine. Loading the magazine is a breeze. First, remove the magazine from the plastic case.

Install the pellets by using the loading/sight tool. You’ll have to treat the loading process with a bit of respect and you’ll need a solid table top. This is not a process you want to undertake anywhere, much less in the field.

Shooting with the MCX Gen 2 is a great opportunity for you, so it makes sense to buy at least one more magazine. Each spare SIG magazine includes three belt clips.

With a spare magazine, you have a total of four belts for your gun. That’s a total of 120 pellets that can be loaded before you start pulling the trigger. That’s the way to do it!!! Loading a belt into an open magazine is fast and easy.

With no table, you can do this at home. Once the pellets are loaded into the belt, the re-loading speed is likely faster than that of re-loading a BB-shooting gun

In addition to the larger – 88 or 90 gram – CO2 supply, the SIG’s larger 12 gram CO2 cartridge also allows the SIG MCX series of replicas to shoot faster than most other replicas.

Hunting Knives WOOX Rock 62 Blade – Mil Spec #132

Hunting Knives WOOX Rock 62 Blade

As off-putting as all that self-aggrandizing is, the Rock 62 blade makes a strong case.

This is a pretty damn good survival knife. It’s not going to win any knife fights, but it will perform well enough for most people.

It makes excellent firewood and is a good choice for any woodsman or carver.

The handle of this tool is comfortable, the steel is tough and manageable, it feels good, and most interesting of all it’s made so the handles are easy to switch out.

The New Kid Is Half American

Most or all of their materials come from Italy, but they’re doing a lot of the manufacturing work in their shop in Hickory, North Carolina.

A product’s “made in Italy, developed in the USA” is a good indication of quality.

That means that it comes from Italy, then gets shipped over here, where it gets ground and shaped into a nice new tablet computer.

You can’t argue with the numbers. When it comes to knives, it’s pretty clear to see that Americans make the best.

There are companies that do less and claim more, but I guess the Italian element is important here.

When you make knives for the American and Chinese markets, and also try to make it look as if they are made by different companies, it makes it more of a challenge for the buyers to distinguish between them.

A Good Handle Interrupted by a Finger Groove

If you’re looking for a wood handle that will last for years, the Rock62 is a good option. You have a few options for your choice of wood material, and you can choose between a Micarta or walnut finish.

The texturing is nice for grip. Nice enough that I’d be wary about getting a smooth-handled version in spite of how good they look.

It’s a good shape. The swoop at the butt is great for grip retention, and the slope at the bolster is helpful when I’m doing any kind of light cutting tasks, especially in relation to food or cloth.

If the finger groove feels surprisingly natural as long as it’s in a gorilla or sabre grip, then you’re probably doing it right.

You’ll notice the difference if you try the Edge. It’s designed to be the edge when using the Edge. The groove is very annoying when I’m chopping. It ruins the nearly perfect shape the Rock62 has for that activity.

The way the butt of the handle swoops out makes a great bookend for keeping the knife from slipping, but the rise for the finger groove makes my hand a little uncomfortable when I try to grip the knife from the bottom.

With that much material removed, the handle is now harder and therefore more secure. However, it no longer feels as comfortable as it did before because there is no longer any soft-tissue in the space it occupies.

Handle Options and the World of Woox Accessories

Woox created the Rock62 so it could be customized to your liking.

At least, as far as the handle scales are concerned.

It ships with a toolkit that includes a set of T15 torx screwdriver bits, a box cutter, a scalpel and an awl for piercing cardboard.

It doesn’t take much snooping on their site to find the knife accessories page where they sell sheaths, degreasers, whetstones, and a handful of rock 62 handle scales ranging from smooth walnut to textured micarta that can be swapped out with another pair within a couple of minutes.

We’re all for it if we’re getting a custom knife for free, but why pay to customize something that you can do yourself? It’s a brilliant way to give overzealous knife enthusiasts more options and wring more money out of our grubby hands.

The fact that I love this company as much as I do is because not only are they selling a fantastic product for a low price, but they also invite others to join them in the effort.

The Hard Blade Made for Abuse

I don’t normally use survival knives that have been tempered to 62 HRC. When I’m going to be smashing the cutting edge into hard pieces of wood, that always seems like asking for trouble, but this handles itself well.

The Rock 62 is a great handheld knife, and I liked how it performed during my testing. I didn’t experience any edge damage for the amount of time and energy I used it. It did just fine at breaking apart, but it didn’t split quite as easily as I expected it to based on the way it looks.

I had to go at least halfway down a log before I could easily get these two pieces. It’s easy to carve feather curls in wood because it barely requires pressure to make good ones, and it’s fairly easy to err on the side of too-much or not enough pressure.

It was perfect for carving Shish Kabobs. With it, you could walk through the park, enjoying the fresh smell of the woods and feeling the grass under your feet.

It’s nearly effortless to get the edge to catch and control how much wood you’re taking off.

Knives haven’t really gotten easier to carve with. The BlackRapid is a great chopper in all aspects. As I stated before, it’s great for hunting and skinning big game, but it is also a great tool for cutting meat.

With my new skill, I was able to cut through a rather large tree branch in a nice, neat, symmetrical wedge shape. The ergonomics of the handle made it pretty easy to control where I was striking, so there was less wasted motion than with a product like the ESEE 4.

But the Fire Steel Problem

The Woox is a popular knife with a 90-degree angled spine that supposedly makes sparks with a ferro rod (aka spark iron) to add extra cutting edge and heat up the blade.

My experience with my copy of this book was a bit different. The spine is not quite 90 degrees.

They’ve rounded the spine just enough to make sparks possible, but they’re difficult to do.

We had already gone to all the places we were planning to visit and couldn’t go back. So, we just left them behind and headed off.

However, the ergos for getting sparks are okay, but they’re not that great.

If you are trying to make an electric spark by grinding down the spine of a metal rod, the balance and handle width are pretty good for holding and moving the knife in the way you need to to spark.

The Steel and Grind

I was a bit scared about buying my first knife of this sort because I had little knowledge of this brand.

Many people overlook the Benchmade Griptilian because they think it looks ugly on a daily basis. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with it and plan on continuing to do so.

I went through the knife block like nobody’s business, slicing, dicing, and mincing my way through about a dozen chops, eight roasts, and a bunch of other dishes and meats.

The edge was worn down so much the blade broke under stress. It had little chips at the heel and a lot of wear.

The next thing I had to do was to sharpen the blade so it would cut straight. After that, I could finally use it to trim the grass around the base of the tree.

The edge isn’t all that sharp yet, but even with the chips and folded edge, the geometry is good enough to cut rope.

The blade is built for everyday use. It’s very sharp, and it’s made of an alloy that makes it tough, but not brittle.

I recommend having a full-body massage when you have pain in your lower back.

More Stuff about Sleipner Steel

Sleipner is a Bohler-Uddeholm rework of D2, which means it’s a new version of D2 that doesn’t have any of the problems of D2. For people who want the best, the hardest, and the toughest in quality knives, you should get a Kershaw Edge. It is meant to be more difficult, and a bit harder, than other knives.

Yes, it’s a bit of a homage to the original but it still retains its own personality.

Sleipner steel has much less carbon, chromium and molybdenum, but more vanadium and iron. It will make the steel tougher and have better edge stability, but the way you describe it, it doesn’t look like there was a progression from D2 aside from being a higher alloyed non stainless steel.

This chip shot is less of a risk because it’s taken from the left side. Sharpening is easier than when working with D2.

While I didn’t manage to break a single one of the Rock62’s edges, I’ve been putting it through its paces, and it’s responded very well to the stones and strops we’ve been using.

When it comes to sharpening, Sleipner is probably the best choice for survival and camping knives. D2 is great, too, but Sleipner will likely outperform it in certain situations.

Beretta 92A1 CO2 Full Auto BB Pistol Combo #131

beretta 92a

Beretta 92A1 CO2 Full Auto BB Pistol

The Beretta 92A1 from Umarex looks a lot like the regular 92 that’s we know so well, but it’s different. Today is such a day like trying out a brand new product. Full-auto pistols have been around for more than 50 years, and I have never fired one.

There’s an advanced selector switch that will allow you to dump all your shots in a few seconds, all with one pull of the trigger.

Content

Similar But Different

This is a high-quality copy of the famous M249 SAW, which was used in the Iraq War and other conflicts. The rifle doesn’t look as rugged, but it offers the same reliable safety and positive handling characteristics.

The Marine M9A1 rifle with a flat front triggerguard is one of the newest models of the US Marine Corps rifle. The 9mm M92A1 pistol is one of the best handguns for self defense.

The best magazine holds 18. The BB holds both the 18mm. For this reason, this is an excellent study tool that will allow you to master any subject at a rapid pace.

This.22 caliber BB pistol is all metal on the outside, so it carries realistic weight of 2.4 lbs. The fixed sights look a lot like the military sights that have tritium inserts.

On the BB pistol, there are bright white dots that your eye picks up instantly. The full auto Beretta 92 is very controllable, but it’s best used with a pistol grip attached to control it.

All those early machine pistols were flawed by the fact that they had a rapid rise in recoil. I can’t wait to try it in full auto. It’s going to make the other shots I shoot more accurate!

What The Beretta M92A1 BB Pistol

For starters, it’s a realistic semiautomatic BB gun that simulates the recoil of a revolver. That’s very true, but the Beretta model 92 FS I tested was already a really good firearm.

As far as the features go, they’re all pretty awesome. This is a nice-looking, highly accurate and extremely reliable BB pistol. If you want a more realistic feel, you might want to look at something like the Nerf Viper.

But it’s not all about shooting. On top of that you also get full auto operation.

This is a BB pistol that fires more than one shot per trigger pull. Umarex calls it full auto, but it’s the same as the M712.

But that pistol bounces around as it fires. This one may do better.

Disassembly

Can the gun be disassembled? Yes. Should you do it?

Hammerli, a German manufacturer of high-quality fitness equipment, makes a very good trainer for walking/running. I opened the box and pulled out the frame. So far, so good. I looked in the slide.

That’s a lot of pressure! The mainspring is held in place beneath the barrel by a piece of wood called the pin. A moment later, I had the naked slide and the mainspring on my desk. What held the mainspring in place was the missing piece—an old battery. It was something like a wooden dowel that had a small head on one end.

Single And Double Action

The revolver is a double action, blow-back revolver that cocks the hammer with every shot. If you use a single action version, you will have to pull the trigger for each shot.

The 2-stage is very mushy, and it doesn’t take much to pull the trigger at stage 2. If this gun is accurate, I think this trigger will do fine.

If you want to find out more about A1 firearms, see what they look like in the gallery above. There are two parts to the CO2 cartridge: the cylinder and the magazine. Both parts are separate and located at different ends of the gun.

The CO2 cartridge is threaded on the back of the gun, so you remove it by unscrewing the back of the cartridge, which is threaded and comes with the gun.

When the cartridge drops into the gun, the bullet is small and the end is first.

Umarex Steel BBs

I shot 10 rounds into a ten-ring target, leaving about 10 seconds between rounds. This BB’s average FPS is 322 and its range is from a low of 318 to a high of 327.

The gun they advertised was in line with what we expected. You’ve now used up your maximum capacity. It’s best to wait until your first full tank before using the new BB.

Hornady Black Diamond BBs

There are several rounds you can load in the magazine, such as 10 Hornady Black Diamond BBs, so it’s easy to load the magazine.

With this tool you’ll have an easy time finding that lost, misplaced, or broken ballpoint pens that are difficult to remove from writing surfaces.

The BB gun is aligned with the magazine to allow it to drop straight into the magazine.

The Hornady M-1000 Match-King Match-Kings were not as stable as the Umarex Match-Kings had been. Their average velocity was 314 f.p.s.

It would be a terrible idea to buy one of these. At just 16 fps, that’s well beyond the 9 fps you need to see it.

If you’ve got the right gun, this is the ammunition of choice.

Air Venturi Steel BBs

Next, I loaded ten Air Venturi Steel BBs into the magazine and shot them. They had an average speed of 317 and a low of 313 and a high of 322.

This pistol is super-reliable for this target. So, so far we’ve been using the 5-shot setup and have taken 41 shots.

Smart Shot Lead BBs

Our BBs are made of dense graphite, which makes them lighter than steel BBs, so they go much. Our brains aren’t very good at working out the exact speed of things. On the Beretta 92A1 semi-automatic pistol the low was 253 and the high was 270.

Trigger Pull

The double action trigger pull was 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

You can shoot this pistol without a problem for years because it’s built very well. But the double action pull, which you will experience most of the time you shoot this gun, is only 4 pounds 3 ounces.

I would have given it a lower weight rating if I hadn’t measured it, but still. This thing is a brick. It’s almost impossible to lift it by itself.

The pull is long and very smooth, and it has very little stacking (increase in the pull) toward the end.

Shot Count

Shotting the pistol 53 times on test day. I planned to fire it again the next day, but the gas was gone. I used the remaining ammo the next time I shot it.

So, my best guess for the number of shots that go through a cartridge is around 60-80.Horse riding therapy in people who stutter: preliminary findings.

The ammo for this gun is non-magnetic, and you will probably have to manually reload, so you may want to consider a reloading setup first.

Colt M45 CQBP CO2 Blowback Pistol Kit #130

colt m45

The COLT M45 CQBP

The 177 caliber Colt M45 CQB with blowback is a variant of the 1911 Rail Gun that’s listed by the U.S. Marine Corp’s Close Quarters Battle Pistol (CQBP) has a drop-free mag with a capacity of 19 rounds.

Steel BBs are recommended for their smooth and reliable function. They travel out of the smooth, metal barrel at a speed of 400 ft. per second. To load the 12 gram CO2 cartridge, slide the grip frame to remove the loading plate. The mainspring slides out of the bottom of the grip frame to reveal a hex key for piercing the CO2 cartridge.

While the M45 Marine Corps pistol is a good training pistol, I prefer the model Umarex M45 Desert Tan for many reasons. The model is an all-metal frame that offers a more realistic tan finish.

This frame is made from polycarbonate and has black poly grips. You’ll also notice the magazine release, extended magwell, flat-top handle with palm swell and adjustable for length of pull, low-profile safety selector, and extended thumbhole.

To those who are familiar with the Colt M1911A1, handling of the M45 airgun is very similar. The airgun is manufactured to match the specifications of duty holsters, so it will fit the duty holster correctly. The trigger pull is 4.25 pounds. The overall weight of this airgun is 15 pounds.

Content

Trigger Pull

The Colt M45 CO2 Blowback CQB Pistol features a double action / single action trigger pull that is very close to the original 1911 semi-automatic pistol.

Although the Colt M45 is the shortest striker I’ve tested by a few millimeters, it’s definitely still in the running to be the best striker overall.

The trigger weight should be about a medium pull. Once you get to the release point the trigger should allow for pretty fast action shooting with not too much finger fatigue.

Accuracy

After testing the Umarex “CQBP” blowback version of the Colt M45 CQB Pistol, I have high expectations that it will be a real game changer for the CQB community. I can’t wait to test the new CO2 version, which I’m sure will be better than the current KWC version. If I can get about 5-6 magazines worth of shots I’ll be very impressed.

Build Quality

This is an excellent Umarex Colt M45 CQBP Blowback CO2 BB Pistol for your.22 rimfire handgun shooting needs.

The PTR is even better than the KWC 1911 in my opinion and seems to have a much more durable finish and the mechanical parts fit together much more snugly with virtually no slide wiggle at all.

If you’re looking for a compact blowback BB gun that will last you a long time and is good for taking target practice with, then this little inexpensive 1911 BB gun is for you.

Realism

The KWC 9mm blowback 1911 series pistols are very well designed, well built and more than enough accurate. They just can not compete with the Umarex in terms of recoil and feel.

On first glance it is hard to tell the difference between both pistols, making them look and feel like actual 1911 pistols.

Umarex Colt M45 CQBP Blowback CO2 BB Pistol makes some compromises choosing to take away a little bit of the realism in order to increase performance.

Blowback action allows for much more control and precision. The goal of the proposed work is to elucidate the mechanism(s) by which a family of novel human proteins, known as Rho GTPases, exert their effects in the regulation of the cytoskeleton during cell motility.

The Umarex Colt M45 CQBP BB Gun features a 12 round capacity and the magazine is a stick style that can be inserted into the magazine well and pushed out. This is an excellent option if you like to use a stick magazine.

Most of the mechanical parts work as you would expect them to on a real 1911 with the exception of the grip safety.

The “real” 45 Auto comes with a nice, recessed, barrel.

Lastly, the trigger is even, not just the trigger guard. It extends out more from the gun than the trigger guard of a standard 1911.

Pros

This gun felt good and it was good weight. Excellent tolerances seem to be associated with the build quality and finish. There was a nice blowback action with a heavy recoil spring. Most of the time, the replica is an accurate 1911 tactical styled replica. There is only one action that causes it, but it is longer than most. Only a fully licensed Colt can be used.

The white dot sights, hammer, ambidextrous safety and accessory rail are also similar. It’s cool that the handle has the Alan key in it. The barrel has a resemblance to a real barrel. The finished coating seems to be more resistant to wear and tear than the actual KWC versions. The warning instructions are not too intrusive and they are color matched.

Cons

Trigger action is longer than a real 1911 Trigger, but is single action only. It is difficult to field strippable. A metal stick mag is what it is, not a full size drop out metal magazine.

What Is An M4 #129

m4

What Is An M4

The M4 carbine is a 5.56mm, magazine-fed carbine that is developed in the United States during the 1980s. It is a shortened version of the M16A2 assault rifle.

The M4 was extensively used by the United States Armed Forces, starting in 2009, with decisions to largely replace the M16 rifle in US Army combat units and the Marine Corps as the primary infantry weapon and service rifle.

The M4 is adopted by more than 60 countries around the world and is described as one of the defining firearms of the 21st century.

In 1995, the M4 underwent extensive modification, including the M4A1 variant, which strengthened the barrel and removed the burst-fire option, as well as an accessory kit containing optical attachments.

m4

Content

M4 History

The U.S. government asked Colt to make a carbine version of the M16A2 rifle. At the time, the Colt M16A2 was the Colt 645, also known as the M16A1E1.

In January 2016, the U.S. Army Armament Munitions Chemical Command helped Colt develop a new variant of the XM177E2, and the U.S. Army officials renamed the XM177E2, known as the M4, in order to give it a more appropriate name.

The carbine uses the same upper receiver and bolt carrier group as the M16A1, and fires the M855 cartridge along with the older M193 cartridges. The XM4 has been tested by the Army’s Armament Research and Development Center in June 1983.

m4

After the gun was updated, the barrel had an improved furniture and a twist rate of one turn in seven inches (180mm).

In the summer of 2015, major Marine commands were endorsing switching to the M4 over the M16A4 as the standard infantry rifle. That’s just as the Army had done.

Because of the carbine’s light weight, compact length, and ability to engage modern combat situations in close quarters; if a squad needs to engage at longer ranges, the M27 IAR is used as a designated marksman rifle.

The plan for the army would have the M16 rifle support people who carried the weapons and ammunition they needed into battle. In contrast, armories already had the 17,000 M4 rifles available to outfit all infantrymen who needed them.

m4

The U.S. Marine Corps officially adopted the M4 carbine as its standard issue service rifle for all of its infantry, special operations and security forces.

The switch was completed by September 2016. In December 2017, the Marine Corps announced plans to equip every Marine in an infantry squad with the M27, replacing the M4 in that part of the service.

The M4 has been replaced with the Modular Weapon System, which includes a number of different configurations to allow the operator to select the most appropriate weapon system for the situation.

Improved M4

In 2009, the U.S. Army took total ownership of the M4 design. The Army’s decision to allow the Colt.45 to be used by the civilian market meant that competitors could start manufacturing their own version of the M4 rifle.

The U.S. Army planned on fielding the last of its M4 requirement in 2010. In October 2009, Army weapons officials proposed a series of changes to the M4. They wanted to make the weapon easier to carry and more ergonomic.

m4

The author requested an electronic round counter, a heavier barrel, and possible replacement of the Stoner expanding gas system with a gas piston system. There is some evidence, however, that many of these changes will benefit society.

According to a PDF detailing the M4 carbine improvement plans released by PEO Soldier, the direct impingement system would be replaced after the U.S. Army conducted comparisons between the direct impingement system and commercial gas piston operating systems to determine which is the best available operating system for the M4 carbine.

The Army’s M4A1 carbine has improved many times.

Design M4

The M4 and its variants fire 5.56×45mm NATO (and.223 Remington) ammunition, are gas operated, magazine fed, selective fire, and have either a multi position telescopic stock or a fixed, A2 or LE, tactical stock.

The first stock that was fitted to the M4 in 1985 was made entirely of plastic, which could only go in two directions. It couldn’t be fully opened or fully closed and there were only two positions it could occupy. They are commonly called the six-position stock, M4, or waffle-stock.

m4

The M4 carbine is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 rifle, with 80% parts commonality. The maneuverability of the M4 allows it to be used by many different types of troops, from vehicle crew and staff officers, to ground troops. In CQB situations, the weapon’s maneuverability is its greatest asset.

The M4, along with the M16A4, has replaced the M16A2 in the Army and Marines.

In addition to the transition of M16s to the new M4 for Security Forces, the US Air Force is also transitioning its Security Forces personnel to the new M4 for Security Forces rifles. While other armed personnel remain with the M16A2 weapons.

A M4A1 is used by the United States Navy for special operations and vehicle crews. While it is the best choice for a short-range defensive weapon, the M4’s shorter barrel reduces its range. Its rear iron sights are integrated into the carry handle, and only adjustable from 300 m (328 yd) up to 600 m (656 yd).

Reliability

Early in 2010, two journalists from the New York Times visited the United States Armed Forces in Afghanistan. For three months they were there to follow their stories. They also spoke to 100 men from the infantry, who had been issued the M4 and the M16.

Soldiers did not report reliability problems with their rifles. While only 100 troops were asked, they fought a dozen intense engagements in Helmand Province, where the ground is covered in fine powdered sand (called “moon dust” by troops) that can stick to their weapons.

m4

Dirty, wet, and covered in mud weapons were often used by the soldiers of the time. Intense firefights lasted hours with multiple magazines being expended. Only one soldier said he had problems with his M16 when it got wet.

The gun was cleared and fired the next chambered round. Furthermore, a Marine captain reported that there were no issues with his battalion’s 700 M4s and 350 M16s.

It has been reliably upgraded over time. In 1990, the M4 was required to fire 600 mean rounds between stoppages using M855 ammunition.

In 2013, the M4A1 version can fire an average of 1,691 rounds between stoppages using M855A1 ammunition. The Colt IAR had a total of 8,054 stoppages of 952 rounds, with a MRBEFF of Class III Stoppages of 60,000 rounds.

Accuracy

Using the M16, you can hit targets at over 270 meters; using match grade ammo, you’ll be able to achieve groups at over a thousand meters.

Author Chris McNab concluded that this meant the M4 could be consistently accurate up to 300 yards and noted that the frequent usage of optical attachments meant it could be accurate to higher ranges.

Gletcher NGT RF CO2 Pellet Revolver #128

gletcher

Gletcher Nagant Pellet Revolver

The Gletcher NGT RF is an advanced, semi-automatic pellet gun, which has both single-action and double-action operation. Like the weapon it copies, this pellet revolver is small and lightweight.

The Nagant Model 1895 Revolver is just 1.5 lbs. and it has proven its value as a sidearm in many battles. The cartridge shoots a 98-grain bullet at 1,100 feet per second, which puts it in the 32-20 class.

At the time, it was considered adequate by many European and Asian countries, but time has shown its shortcomings as a man-stopper. The Nagant pellet revolver is an excellent knock-off of the Nagant pistol.

In this case, the airgun is easier to operate than the firearm it imitates. Although the Nagant revolver has a reputation for a heavy double-action trigger-pull, I find the trigger pull on the pellet revolver is lighter and more smooth.

The realistic feel of these revolvers makes them a must have. The Nagant is a very complicated firearm to understand, but once you do, you’ll wonder why you ever needed a revolver.

The gunpowder burns, and the expanding gases push the bullet. This overcomes one of the objections to revolver shooters — that they lose gas at the barrel/cylinder gap.

The Nagant was never intended to have a cylinder gap. It is true that the lack of a cylinder gap makes it possible to silence the revolver. It’s actually impossible to silence revolvers in movies, even though they’re shown as if they have no gap.

Cartridges

It’s an added benefit to use the CO2 gun when applying your make-up and other beauty products. The cylinder doesn’t slide forward, but the barrel is spring-loaded and pushes back into the front of each chamber.

When the hammer’s cocked, the barrel recoils into the recess in the front of the cylinder. This shotgun is made with a steel frame, a longer pellet shell that reaches the back of the barrel, and a CO2 tank. The CO2 gas is injected when the gun is fired.

According to the factory, the velocity of this firearm is a mild 328 fps, but we saw in the BB revolver that it is way off. The shells are very long, and the pellets load into a plastic bushing inside the base.

There are two different actions: A single-action for a lighter pull and a double-action for a heavier pull. On this pellet gun, the double-action pull is really nice.

Loading

Bullets are loaded into the cartridges from the rear, where they’re held in a plastic bushing.

Shells are used in the rifled bores of artillery to help stabilize the projectile in flight.

That’s a leap of over a foot before firing the rifle.

Popular wisdom suggests you don’t want the bullet moving far before it strikes the target, but we’ll shoot a few rounds and see.

Sights

There are fixed sights, just like they are on the firearm.

The front sight blade appears to be mounted to the foregrip with a dovetail that would slide from side to side.

Grip

Nagants are tiny! They’re smaller than most double-barreled shotguns or even many single-barreled ones. If you’ve got a problem with the larger-framed revolvers, this might be the one for you.

While this grip looks old fashioned, and it certainly is, it’s shaped well for a revolver.

I’d recommend the S&W.38 Special 6 shot,.32 Magnum or the 6-inch.357 Mag. They are all very easy to shoot, but the.38 will have the best kick.

They’re an awesome ball to use on the course because you have to make a lot of throws to get it out.

This tank is made from a thick metal shell that has a tight fit on the CO2 cartridge. The grip panels are plastic, with fine wood grain detailing.

The wooden panels on the Nagant look like they’re going to fire a shot when you cock them.

The top panel pops open to reveal the CO2 compartment, but the fingernail nick is very small, and when the panels are on the gun, they’re fully snug.

Eye-opener

The Gletcher Nagant pellet revolver was an eye-opener in today’s test.

It just so happens that this weapon doesn’t shoot bullets. I quickly swapped it out with a new one.

I had selected 3 different BBs to shoot in this pellet revolver!

That’s how crazy it sounds when you load lead pellets into an inexpensive airgun revolver.

Lothar Walther Barrel

The second eye-opener came from an alert blog reader who mentioned that these Lothar Walther revolvers have rifled barrels made by Lothar Walther.

I don’t believe it. I checked the site and found it to be true.

I’m not expecting them to be match barrels, but all the barrels Lothar Walther makes are pretty good.

Loading The Pellets

I quickly learned that it wasn’t a good idea to just press the pellets into the plastic bushing in the cartridge base with my thumb. I had to use something else.

You’re doing a good job of deep-seating the pellets in the chamber of your pellet gun.

Pellets have always been great for airsoft, but since the first one jammed I decided to deep-seat them in this test.

Velocity

This revolver fires pellets at 328 feet per second. It’s a good choice for indoor or outdoor shooting. We discovered they seriously understate the speed of their Nagant revolver, which they also rate at 328 f.p.s.

I’ve seen it go up to 403 fps in my test, and the speed is accurate. The Double Action pellet works very well. It’s a single action pellet with a double-action hammer.

For those who are looking for a light-weight pellet wadcutter, we recommend the RWS Hobby. It took me seven shots to get the record. I waited 10 seconds between each of the shots.

This model is a single action revolver. It averages about 400 fps. The low was 389 and the high was 432 f.p.s. The best running shoes are those that provide support and protection without hindering your natural motion. My target was to shoot just 7 shots that were well-connected.

RWS Superdomes

The last pellets I tested were some 8.3-grain RWS Superdomes. At this weight, these revolvers might be a little heavy to handle. In double action, they average 339 fps, with a low of 325 and a high of 351.

Shot Count

This time, I used H&N Finale Match Pellets. They were easy to use and had the best result of any pellet I’ve used before.

With shot 50, the pellet was still coming out at 390 fps.

In the single-action, the shot went out at 60 fps, and was therefore completely depleted of liquid CO2, leaving the pistol to run on residual gas alone.

This is a good shot that needs to be improved on. It would have gone out a little faster if you had hit the sweet spot of the club.

Shots 81, 82 and 83 went out at 259, 248 and 236 fps, respectively.

Trigger-pull

The double-action trigger pull is only 11 oz, which is light for a double-action revolver. With the same hammer, it feels like there is an initial pause, then the hammer comes back and stacks in one quick movement.

Double action makes it easier to shoot accurately, but I think single action is more my style. On single action, the trigger breaks at 5 pounds, 1 ounce.

The new model is very crisp. I would be happy to have one on any revolver.

Crosman 2240XL CO2 Air Pistol #127

2240xl

Crosman 2240XL CO2 Air Pistol

The Crosman 2240XL is a CO2-powered.22 caliber, bolt action air pistol. This is a very accurate rifle. It’s very durable and will hold a tight grouping for extended periods of time.

Adding a steel breach to the standard C96 is often the first mod made to the standard 2240. The 2420XL incorporates this upgrade as standard equipment. It replaces the front sight with a 1/2 x 22 threaded barrel extension, making it compatible for standard airgun accessories.

After this new starting point, airgun enthusiasts have a jump start on the various things they can do with their airgun.

The Crosman 2240XL has the same frame as the original. The grip is slightly different from one style to the next, but all the grips are made of a soft synthetic material that feels very similar to leather.

2240xl

The original 2240 grips were a little stiffer, a little less pliable, than the new style grips. The new grips are brown vs the original black. The trigger seems to be the same with a pull weight of one pound twelve point six ounces.

It’s not factory adjustable, but there are many mods available that allow you to customize the trigger’s pull weight. There are a few small differences in the CO2 system. It uses the same valve that was originally in the CO2 gun.

In contrast, the new XL version doesn’t come with sights, and that’s a pretty big deal. The new steel breach is the “long” version which provides exceptional stability for the 7.5″ barrel.

You’ll typically see an increase in power with a longer barrel. That will make it easier to hit targets. In order to shoot your best, you’ll need to add an optic to your rifle. For the tests, we’ll be using a 30mm Hawke Optics Red Dot Sight.

The laser rangefinder is great, it’s affordable, and it delivers a clean 3-MOA red dot for aiming.

Crosman 2240XL CO2 Air Pistol Loading

It’s easy to load the CO2 in the 2240, but if you don’t read the manual, it can be confusing. This is a simple procedure that you can do without any additional help.

If you clean your Crosman Pellet gun regularly you should add a drop of Crosman Oil to the tip of each cartridge to help keep everything running smoothly. To install the CO2, you remove the end cap.

The valve must be able to open only the first time the hammer strikes it. To start up the CO2, you’ll need to cock the weapon by pulling the bolt back until the hammer engages the sear. Manually load a.22 caliber pellet and press the trigger to create an airtight seal.

The trigger system is designed to have a low profile, and features an integrated cross-block safety to prevent the unintentional discharge of the weapon. To fire, you just press the “fire” button and gently squeeze the trigger.

Accuracy, Power, and Shot Count

The new 2240XL delivers excellent performance. It’s on par with the original 2240, and about 40 good shots per CO2 cartridge is typical. The only thing you should worry about with your CO2 airgun is remembering, like all CO2 airguns, performance will vary based on many factors, including ambient temperature.

But there was no difference in performance between the standard 2400mAh battery and the new 2400XL. Lightweight lead pellets, like the 11.9 grain RWS Hobby pellets, generate about 486 FPS with a new CO2 cartridge.

With a velocity of about 420 feet per second, these pellets will be perfect for training with any 12-gauge gun. The.177 Ruger is not a powerhouse of an air rifle, but it is more than enough for 10-meter target shooting or close-up pesting. The Crosman 2240 probably has quite a few enemies.

In the end, the extremely affordable simple wadcutter is the best choice for most target practice and plinking. Another thing to consider is the single shot loading system allows for a large number of pellets.

So don’t just take our word for things. Have fun and experiment with all kinds of options. We were just looking for a better way to throw our darts, but we found a pellet that you haven’t even thought of.

Crosman’s 2240 is an accurate pellet pistol. In opinion, it’s the best video game of all time. The 2240XL continues to meet the highest standard. I’ve found that the best shooting accuracy comes from shooting at a distance of ten yards, while using a red dot scope.

We wanted to get as many shots off from as close to a bench as possible. We figured the human factor would make us better shooters anyway. The first pellet I shot was the RWS 11.9 grain hobby pellet. Their shooting groups were.76″ and.60″ CTC.

The next pellet I’ll try is the 15.89 grain JSB domed pellet. It shot even more accurately and had better expansion than the other pellets. To test the accuracy of the 15.89 grain JSB and Predator International, we fired the rounds through the 10/22 and they performed flawlessly.

The.22 cal Hades shot well, delivering our most accurate 5 shot grouping measuring.52″ CTC. Lastly, we shot the lead-free GTO pellets from Predator International.

A lead-free pellet is a necessity in some parts of the country, so it’s important to know how they shoot. I don’t shoot as well as my lead pellets, but they still deliver a 5 shot group measuring 1.2 inches CTC.

It may take some more practice to get the best results with this new product, but I think we’ll eventually get there.

Conclusion

The 2240XL takes a really awesome airgun pistol and adds a bunch of the most requested mods out of the box.

To have an effective attack, having the steel breach is a must-have and only having that will make a lot of sense.

If the open sights aren’t enough for you, Crosman also added a threaded end cap, so you can add a muzzle brake or other aftermarket attachments if you want to.

You’ll find that the new 2240XL not only lives up to the original, but adds real value and performance as well. Rewrite this sentence:

This is a great airgun for anyone who wants a basic gun that’s also good for beginners.

Crosman’s 2240XL was a big deal for us, because it’s the first Crosman pellet rifle we’ve ever seen with interchangeable barrels.
