Umarex M712 Full-Auto CO2 BB Pistol Review #59

M712

Legends M712 Full-Auto CO2 BB Pistol

A look at the new M712 Full-Auto CO2 BB Pistol from Umarex. The M712 is a single-shot, full-auto air pistol that uses the.177 caliber BB as the ammunition.

For the best BB replica, get the most realistic one ever. The Legends M712 is so cool that it fires full auto. You’ll be able to fire more shots before reloading. If you’re looking for the meanest-looking BB replica gun ever, it’s definitely the Legends M712.

This is the fastest pistol we’ve ever seen. It combines realistic appearance, operation, and selection of semi-auto and full-auto modes to make this pistol a “no brainer” choice. Whether you’re buying it for your self, or for your child, you’re going to smile.

There’s no major downside to the M712, though the shooting angle is quite high. It’s more accurate than the M300, but not as reliable as the M450. It’s one of the highest shooting pistols, though.

VALUE FOR MONEY

The chance of ever owning an original firearm version of this firearm is vanishingly small, incredibly difficult and it will cost you a huge amount of money.

M712

In terms of smiles per hour of full-auto fun, the Legends M712 is in a league of its own. And at an MSRP of around $110, nothing comes close. A variety of different types of medical devices have been developed for introduction into a patient’s body.

REALISM – LOOK AND FEEL

The Legend M712 full-auto CO2 BB pistol is an outstanding replica of the Mauser Model 1932 selective fire military pistol, usually known by its German designation “Schnellfeuer”.Efficacy of nimesulide in prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting in laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a randomized, double-blinded trial.

There are a number of companies who are producing quality replicas of the Mauser C96. In the USA the Legends version of this weapon is sometimes known as the “Mauser M712”. They look very similar to the original firearm.

The only real appearance negative is the grey powder-coat finish. You can’t get bluing, and the lightening cuts that appeared in the original were cut off and left visible machining marks.

In the replica, the lightening cuts are a molded part of the frame. And, OK, the lanyard ring really should be somewhat more substantial… But these should not detract from the amazing realism displayed by the Legends M712 full-auto CO2 BB pistol.

The correct Schnellfeuer hammer is fitted, the magazine drops away from the frame in the correct fashion, and you must have the correct tools for that tool as well. (Non-Schnellfeuer Broomhandles were loaded from the top with a stripper clip and the magazine was an integral part of the frame).

There’s a selector switch of the correct pattern and in the correct location, as well as the safety and sights. The rear sight – just like the original – really belongs on a Mauser 98 military rifle.

Why would anyone put such sights on a pistol? That’s just ridiculous. The sight must have been added after they found out about the German origin of the Mauser rifle.

This made the Broomhandle a carbine. The wooden holster was attached to the frame of the pistol using a slot in the rear of the frame.

The original stock will fit perfectly in the Legends M712. It was designed to exactly replicate the original finish, so it is almost impossible to improve upon the look of this stock! The grips are molded from a natural wood composite with a genuine, high-gloss wood finish.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you might not know this but the Mauser M712 is a real firearm. It’s the original weapon of choice for a lot of gun enthusiasts. Some people even refer to them as the “Legends”.

This was the German World War Two ordnance code for Carl Walther. However, it’s a joke for those in the know, as Walther has been owned by Umarex for many years. Of course the Broomhandle wasn’t made during the Second World War, nor was it ever made by Carl Walther, but someone at Umarex couldn’t help themselves when marking it “ac”.

ACCURACY AND POINT OF IMPACT

Accuracy and point of impact, the handling of this M712 Legend replica are almost identical to that of the firearm original. The lack of inherent “pointability” of the original was a disadvantage of the firearm and this has been faithfully reproduced by this M712 replica.

The HAM M712 full-auto CO2 BB gun was accurate out to 6 yards. It performed well with all standard HAM BBs except for the Crosman Copperheads.

Best accuracy was achieved using the Umarex Steel BBs. These gave a 10 shot group of just under 1 inch at 6 yards, although the group opened up a lot at 10 yards as you can see from the target below.

For a pistol, the Legends M712 tested by HAM has performed fairly well. However, there is a slight lack of windage adjustment, which could be problematic if you need to account for different shooting conditions.

Of course, the Broomhandle Mauser was never intended to be a precision target pistol. Personally, I’d be very pleased to achieve targets like this with my old firearm C96!

It’s important to note that the HAM testers did not find the rifle accurate when firing the.223 round, and that the barrel must be properly bedded to prevent excessive case growth.

Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, a method of controlling the same, and a computer program product.

This held the shots on target, and the warmth of my hand helped to limit the cooling effect of shooting. Full auto one-handed in a long burst will scare even a paper target. But don’t expect to actually hit too much!

This is a serious machine for serious use only. Its full auto mode requires extra care for safety so make sure you have safety glasses or something similar on at all times when operating this gun. Be very aware of your surroundings when you’re in the vicinity of a fully automatic weapon.

Yeah, they should be. But double-check before you move that selector switch to “R”!

COMPARISON TO MAKERS CLAIMS

Umarex claims a muzzle velocity of 360 FPS for the Legends M712. But HAM testing showed muzzle velocities ranging from 340 to 390 FPS. For these tests, we used a more accurate gauge than the one included with the rifle (a standard.243 caliber scope). The muzzle velocities we got in the higher range are probably more accurate than what the Umarex folks will claim.

It’s clear from the test targets that these were always the first shots in a string. Given that HAM testing was undertaken at a range temperature of 67 degrees F, which is low for a CO2-powered airgun, it’s clear that the manufacturer’s muzzle velocity claim for the M712 will be met, or even exceeded, in warmer temperatures.

Another claim is that the M712 is an 18-shot.177 caliber bolt action BB pistol. In HAM testing, we consistently loaded 20 BBs at a time into the magazine without any problems. Again the manufacturer’s claims were exceeded.

CONSISTENCY

The most consistent and most dependable way to improve is by training, practicing, and drilling for as many rounds as possible.

As we anticipated, the muzzle velocities were very low in the semi-auto mode. The most consistent values were under 150 FPS with Standard Deviations around 10 FPS or less.

A variety of methods can be used to conduct HAM testing. Our method involved firing the pistol at a stationary target at a distance of 1 meter with a total test time of 2 minutes. We fired 10 rounds at the target.

The Crosman’s other feature is the new SuperFlash that has a patented system that allows the gun to fire BBs with up to 10 times the muzzle energy of other conventional systems.

As we’ve seen, the HAM Testing shows us that the Legends M712 full-auto CO2 BB pistol delivers no misfires.

REALISM – TRIGGER AND ACTION

THE LEGEND M712 BB PISTOL replica fires the same weight BBs that the real M712 does. The bolt moves back and forth by pushing on the wings in front of the hammer. Pulling back on the wings cock the M712 BB Pistol replica bolt.

The selector switch can be set to “N” for semi-automatic fire. Turning it to “R” sets the gun to “rock and roll” mode, and to a big smile! Note, though, that there is no hold open on the Legends M712.

After the magazine is emptied of its 18 BBs, the gun will continue to fire full auto until you release the trigger, even though most of these shots will be blanks. The single action trigger pull is a military grade 5 lbs. plus.

You’ve got to love that safety lever. It allows the shooter to fire the HAM.45 without pushing a button. It also provides an easier grip with your index finger off of the trigger. It is easy to shoot with one hand and still have a firm grip on the HAM with the other.

The original Mauser Broomhandle firearm was infamous for its unreliable safety mechanism, and there have been many improvements to make the safety better. Some of the safety improvements have even proven to be 100%.

This new model is more accurate than the old and the felt recoil is gone, making this one of the most pleasant firing handguns. 45 caliber would be ideal for concealed carry, but .357 magnum would make a perfect home defense handgun if you live in a high crime area.

Both of these upgrades enhance the shooting experience – at least in the HAM team’s opinion! So we’re expecting a stripped-down, easy-to-strip, bolt-action, semi-automatic pistol that should be very reliable in the field.

The C96 Broomhandle mechanism was very intricate, and the M712 Broomhandle even more so. I had to send the Broomhandle back to the factory because I couldn’t get it back together after having taken it apart for a field stripping attempt.

I highly recommend this shotgun to anyone who likes a little bit of action in their shooting experience, especially if they are a novice. This gun does everything a BB gun should do, but the safety is actually designed differently than other BB guns.

If it weren’t for the difference in price between the Colt Navy revolver and the Smith & Wesson revolver, you wouldn’t even notice the difference. It’s less obvious than the difference between revolvers made by different manufacturers.

SHOT COUNT

There are times when you’ll want more shots than a fully automatic can give, and you can get those extra shots with the EAA Legend M712. In HAM testing, semi-auto fire gave only 55 shots from one CO2 cartridge.

When you’re firing at full auto, you’re likely to have much lower shot counts than when using semi-auto.

It’s very easy to cycle, and using it will give you lots of energy.

MUZZLE VELOCITY

LEGENDS M712 FULL-AUTO CO2 BB PISTOL TESTED BY HAM The best full-auto CO2 BB pistols have been tested by HAM for accuracy, consistency, and reliability over many thousands of rounds.

That should be plenty for paper punching and some close range plinking, but still not for hunting any type of critter under any circumstances.

APPEARANCE AND FINISH

The overall appearance and finish of the Legends M712 is very good. Yes, the finish is a powder coat and not the deep bluing of the firearm original. However, the finish is close in comparison to the blued steel finishes on the real firearms. Plus it’s easy to apply and does require no sanding prior to finishing.

In the image above, look at the mark around the “S” of the safety in the photograph. But take note of the very realistic appearance of the “wood” grips. These are the only external parts that are made of plastic. Everything else is metal.

That replica revolver retails for more than $100 is so real that it’s really tough to complain about its quality.

BUYING AND OWNING

You’re right. It’s not designed to be repaired. The magazine can be replaced simply by replacing the magazine.

Having multiple magazines loaded with CO2 and BBs is a great idea if you’re going to be shooting full auto. The best way to make sure you have plenty of ammo on hand is to preload several magazines with the ammo you need before you head out on your next shooting adventure.

The BB Gun magazine is the M712’s worst part. It has a pretty good design and it’s cheap to make. All in all, it’s still better than the slowest ones out there. The only thing is that it comes with only a single magazine.

This sounds expensive, but it’s not really when you look at the size, weight, finish, and complexity of the magazine. Buy a ton of 12 gram CO2 cartridges.

The tool is needed to install the CO2 cartridges. Of course, a standard Allen (hex) wrench will work. If you lose this, it will be useful to know that it is a 6mm metric.

Most BB-firing replicas from Umarex provide a 90-day warranty. However, ASG and SIG only provide a 60-day warranty. Crosman gives up to 18 months warranty on its BB replica pistols, making it one of the best at the current time.

Legends Air Pistol is packaged very well. It has a strong card box and molded foam insert. Shipping will not affect the condition of the air gun, regardless of how much it’s handled.

The gun comes with a detailed instruction manual, but it’s missing a key fact that’s vital for safe usage – namely, that the bolt must be pulled back (grip those wings), then released, before the gun can be fired.

The manual is pretty comprehensive and easy to understand, although not that easy to navigate. You can select the language you want to use and the manual is in English, French and Spanish. Also included is a leaflet explaining how to register your airgun (for warranty purposes) and a useful “Airgun Safety Rules” leaflet.

This is an extremely safe, easy to use airgun. If you follow the safety instructions and use it correctly, you’ll have fun with it, too.
